If anyone wants some free money, just search me out tomorrow and setmine against me in 3-bet pots. You're 100% guaranteed to hit a set every time.

SWEET! I've been running slightly lower than usual on those sets and also am a big fan of money. We got a date tomorrow!

This hand was awesome not because of the results, but because of the ensuing chat. Don't you love how fish adjust to your "bullying" by drawing to two outs?

Ultimate Bet, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players

BB: $58.81 (58.8 bb)
MP: $85.80 (85.8 bb)
CO: $57.15 (57.2 bb)
BTN: $172.05 (172.1 bb)
Hero (SB): $112.68 (112.7 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is SB with 4c 9h
3 folds, Hero raises to $3, BB calls $2

Flop: ($6) 4h 9c Jd (2 players)
Hero bets $5, BB calls $5

Turn: ($16) 8s (2 players)
Hero bets $13.25, BB calls $13.25

River: ($42.50) 6h (2 players)
Hero bets $38, BB calls $37.56 and is all-in

Results: $117.62 pot ($3.50 rake)
Hero showed 4c 9h (two pairs, Nines and Fours) and won $0.00 (-$58.81 net)
BB showed 8c 8d (three of a kind, Eights) and won $114.12 ($55.31 net)

lol ^^^

Had a similar one earlier. He hit a 2-outer on the river I type "lol well played sir" he responds "well you keep raising my big blind, eventually I have to defend and try to get lucky"

awesome strategy sir, truly breathtaking.

Apparently losing with sets is the new three-betting light?

Brutal night, but not debilitating. Playing 50nl, -$118 and was another $50 below ev. So much for turning things around I guess. </mope>

Meh, March is such a pain. I don't know what we're doing anything different from previous months to deserved this.

I think you should post the AcKc hand from your blog in the HA section. I'm pretty sure i play it the same way, but i don't like the way I play it, tbh. I think it would be worth discussing the value of alternative lines.

Almost made it! Swongs are fun, still a good month though beating 25NL for just shy of 10BB/100.

Thanks for this Belgo. I posted the hand as you suggested and it'll be interesting to see what others think. I can't sleep tonight and read some parts of Elements of Poker and thought about what "Pros" would say. It'll make for an interesting post :)

Insomnia does NOT equal profits as it turns out. Had Custo sweat me which was fun, he got to see me have a flopped flush under flush and an overpair lose to trips. TO summarize ...

300 hands today (early AM insomnia session but very alert and awake)

1 flush under flush flopped. Bye stack!

1 overpair to limp-call to the river trips. Big pot lost.

KK<89 with 75% equity at flop shove. Big pot lost.

So another 2 buyins gone at 50nl. Making that:

Last 4 Sessions:

1636 hands = -$247

So I can't win at 50nl officially now. I can't even look at the months E.F.D.S. results (Epic Fail Downswing Syndrome) anymore. I feel numb.
