Is it a sigh that god do not want me get into this poker path?
Maybe God decided that others need your money more. Consult with a priest for further details.

I think it depends on a few things.

How much total have you funded your account? What stakes are you playing?
What is your preflop call percentage?
Have you been getting bad beats?
What is you experience level?
The list goes on but I think you can see where I am going with this.

I have been playing Poker on Pokerstar for 2 months and lost 850 CAD already. Should I stop?
Friend, I think that with such indicators, you should stop. Probably - this is not yours, luck does not pursue, as you can see. While you can stop - it's worth it. By the way, guys, who listens to music, tell me where you can listen license free music?

No, I don't think it's worth quitting. You can't stop half way.

here it is of great importance whether it is money for you or not and how you evaluate it at what limits and so on, it might make sense to work on the game, but if it was due to a nervous breakdown or gambling addiction, then it is better to stop

If you are consistently losing, then, yes,
you should stop playing for money
until you have developed more skills

Study and practice until you get better
I suggest you try the freerolls available at the different sites
to get more practiced

Everyone loses occasionally,
but consistent losses means
there's something missing with your skills

You need to take brake bro and calm your self and after you feel you are ready to play again give it another shoot.

I set up deposit limits and I can lose only a small amount a month. If someone can't do it and he or she consistently loses large amounts of money, then, yes, they should quit playing poker.

I think you should study more and nearly stop playing. Your message tells me that you don't know enough about the game to be playing. For example, two months is not an amount of poker, it is an amount of time. These may seem similar but they are not. In two months someone might play 1000 hands, or someone might play 200000 hands. $850 is your loss, but that doesn't mean anything by itself. I know you are not playing $500/$1000, but if you were you would have loss less than 1BB. If you were playing $2 buy in NLH and lost $850 that would mean you are basically doing everything wrong.

Because you didn't understand even which information tells people you are doing well or doing poorly, I would focus on reading a poker book, and playing just a little that you can easily afford to lose.

Like me, you probably don't want to spend money on a coach, but like me, you probably should. When $850 is a lot to lose, spending $100-$200 on a coach seems a little like losing more. However, you will continue losing money. Almost certainly you are not going to start winning next week. So, if you expect to lose another $1000, I think you should get a coach for $50 or $100 for 1 hour and see how you feel.

The smart choice would probably be to:
1. Switch to $5NL or $10NL if you want to continue to play. If you can't win at $5NL you can't win at $10 or $25 or $50.
2. Read a poker book which will cost you prob $20-$30
3. Make sure you are doing everything that the book suggests. Chances are you are not going to have any better ideas that what is in the book, even though you will think you do.
4. If you are doing what the book says, now you should be winning at $5NL.
5. Now, move up to $25NL and play a few thousand hands. You should be winning a little or close to it. If you are losing a little, that is okay.
6. Send you hand history to a coach and pay them for 1 hour to go over your hands and get advice on how to improve.
7. Follow their advice.
8. Follow their advice.
9. Play another few thousand hands and see if you have improved. Did you win more? Did you lose less? Do you know why?
10. Meet with the coach again. Focus on the changes you have made. Did you successfully make those changes? If so, then work on another thing to improve. If not, repeat from 7 until you are willing to take the advice of the people you are paying to give you advice (either you take their advice, or you get a new coach, or you stop coaching- no point paying for coaching and refusing to do what they suggest)

Don't stop in such a hurry, read a few more poker books, play more 2+2, accumulate experience and earn back slowly

hi

I can tell you as a person who has lost a lot more money and time, stop! Stop gambling! If you feel sorry for the money, then you will lose everything! You must play the freerolls! Try to build up a bankroll in these tournaments and then get back to cash games! If you can't build a bankroll on freerolls, you have little chance of making money playing poker. I wrote all this because I myself also lost a lot and could not understand why! Now I have built my bankroll from scratch and continue to play freerolls until I get the amount that I can play for money and not be afraid to lose it.

How much in reserve?

You've been on a bad run and have lost hundreds of dollars. Been there myself, and didn't like it. I had a couple of hundred for a bankroll, when its lost, that's all I lose, nothing more.
I took a break from poker, to rebuild my bankroll, the money I could afford to lose.
It might work for you to take a break from poker, see what did/didn't work in your poker games.
And not playing for a little while, feels good, just for the fact you're not bummed because of poker losses.

I lost a lot too. I do not trust any room anymore. Of course everybody will say I am just a bad player. But....other players told me there are so called bad seats. They just are there, and when you are the chosen one it is your turn to lose. You can try whatever, you will lose on a seat like that.

Now I am at zero, and that will stay like that. I am not going to deposit anymore. For freerolls I basically have no time, because my child is very sick. It seems over for me when it comes to poker. But that is better. No more losing!

Since you posted here, I will ask: Please give some evidence that is NOT "Someone told me" about your bad seat comment.

My attitude about your comment was immediately softened when I read this: "my child is very sick". I have children. Poker is just a game. I think you are making the right decision that poker is over for you as long as your child is not doing well. Poker will be here when your child gets better, and I sincerely hope he/she does get better soon.

Family trumps poker every minute of the day.

Don't listen to other players bullshit, I assume that you have noticed that players change seats a few times per game,
these "other players" would be the same players that say online poker is rigged, but they still play thinking that it is rigged.

What does that tell you about those people. ;)

I hope your daughter gets the help she needs.

It is difficult to give advice in such a case. If there are financial opportunities and poker brings joy (just the process of playing, not losing), then I would continue to play.

If you are losing money, you definitely need to stop. It is better to take a break and analyze your game. A break will save you money, and an analysis will help you identify mistakes. The real question is can you lower your bankroll to an amount that won't frustrate you if you loose!?

If I lose, I get very upset because of this and then I lose my temper.

I think if a player started to lose, you should definitely take a break. The reasons for losing can be different - this is fatigue, and a lack of knowledge, discipline, or a downswing, and the like. Then you need a pause in the game to understand what went wrong, sort yourself out and work on the mistakes.

The biggest mistake I've made in poker when losing money is trying to win back. I thought if I increase the limits or play more, I will return the lost money, but this is not so. I would even say it would be more correct to go down to cheaper stakes when losing.
