I usually never try to listen music while playing, but sometimes when I win a huge pot or do a sick bluff , I go to youtube/spotify and listen a song to celebrated it.

If at all, I like ambient music. But I prefer most time silence, what is very difficult with my partner who loves music in all variations and also loves to play poker

I almost always listen to music when playing online. It might be distracting for some though

For some players, music helps to concentrate during the game. And some players give out listening to music during the game and properly concentrate:)

Thanks ..... ... since I played this long without doing it , I think I won't even try :) ..... but I'm seeing more and more at the casino doing it , and I don't want to be the old guy at the table lol ... maybe I will just pretend I'm listening to music [emoji23][emoji23]

Yes, I'm listening to music while playing poker, but rarely, because sometimes it prevents you from concentrating on the game.

I personally never listen to music playing cards, but I do not see anything wrong with listening to music during the game !!! Music calms, and for many it is very important !!!!

I only listen to music during those long stretches of being card dead in a cash game, where you see J6 7 times in a row. Usually when things pick up and I start seeing better quality of hands I turn it off and pay more attention.

I am the same way! When I am in card dead groove will put on music and when I need to focus I just turn it off. Although sometimes I forgot to and it kinda throws me off a bit so not sure if it's ideal or I need to listen to more relaxing music XD

I watch streams, TV or surf the Internet. But if I reach serious stage in tournaments I turn off all distracting things and play in quietness.

OK, so I am just curious. I see a lot of people listening to music with their headphones on at the table allllll the time. I was wondering how people feel about this? Are you able too? Do you think its better for your game play? Im curious to know.

Personally, I find it almost impossible to listen to music while playing a serious game. Especially cash games when there is a **** ton of money on the table.
For me, i find it to be sensory deprivation. I need all my senses working when I am playing. I have to be able to analyze the table. Analyze the way a certain player acts when hes strong or weak. Things he says, etc. With headphones on, you miss out all all kinds of cues. I think all your doing when using music while playing is screwing yourself.

How do you feel?
Online at home I dont think music is a big deal.
But in a live game you need to pay attention.

Who is crying about a bad run?
Who had a fight with the spouse at home ?
Who is just impatient and pissed off today ?
Who has to go in 2 hours ?

You land up excluding yourself from this information.

In addition, when you are in a big hand, what do you do? DO you switch the music off, or take the earphone off ? Telltale sign that you have something ! However, you may also use this as a double bluff, because most decent players are studying you, and your behavior. I sometimes would put headphones on, when you get someone next to you that is talking all the time or trying to needle you. You can have them switched off, but you can give them that 'F--k you, I can't hear you stare', even though you can :)

If you listen to relaxing music I think it's possible, but it all depends on each person individually.
