Luck is 70 % of poker

Such a notion is foolish and incorrect. You are volunteering to be blind to your situation and also telling everyone you are okay with being oblivious to the obvious.

To reiterate again, my basis is there are no professional "luck" players - only those with a much deeper understanding of the game who work nonstopped increasing their overall win rate and maximizing ROI. This makes them winning players - CONSISTENTLY winning i might add.

You can believe what you want - and in all honesty while preaching to you guys to understand this is a game largely based on skill - i want the majority if you to remain stubborn and ignorant believing that most of the game is luck - because that will print me $$ at the end of the day lol. Thats just the reality of the situation.

The best players in the world don't win because they are the luckiest gus/gals at the tables - they win because of their skill edge. Now what is a skill edge? Bear in mind I am no professional nor am I one of the winning-est players in the world - but my understanding of my level should provide some sufficient examples. Such as::

*Understanding range advantage - this allows me to play particular spots rather than my own cards.

*ICM spots - knowning when to push/fold or call off properly will print you money in the long term. Many MANY players in the lower stakes online are far too tight and far too loose in these areas.

*Proper bet sizing - allows me to apply maximum pressure while risking the minimum - gets me maximum value from my strong hands - this can make a huge difference in deep tournament runs.

Anyhow - there are many more things that play into this game - these are just quick off the top examples and why they make a difference. Winning the pots where you flop well or make a monster hand is easy - winning all the hands you are not supposed to and making better hands fold - thats where the difference is made.

Luck, I think, is very crucial in poker. You can be any good player if your opponent has a good day and goes 2 7 all-in and comes down on the flop with two 7s and a 2 on the river. Knowledge doesn't help here anymore.

I hate when luck sides with the fishy players who go all in on a whim with so much air.
72o - I'm sitting there holding pocket Jacks and they take the pot down - not a nice feeling at all!

Luck is only relevant in the short term. The better player always wins over the long run.

To be a winner in the long term, you must consistently make better decisions than your opponents, based on your odds and your experience. Meanwhile, you need to be capitalizing on the mistakes that your opponents make.

"When a man with money meets a man with experience, the man with experience leaves with money and the man with money leaves with experience."

Im still a very new poker player. It makes sense to me that its mainly skill with variance (luck). I would say us new playing rely on luck more because we dont have as much skill yet. I would say when you have played and studied poker a long time its definitely skills. I personally still have a long ways to go so a little luck (variance) once in a while sure goes a long way.

I think luck helps about 15%, skill 85%. Top players are where they are because of skill not luck.

I think that all the players have luck in differents hands! There are things that are more important than luck, for example skills, maths and patience. If you don´t have this things is really difficult win in this game. Luck is not the more relevant aspect :)

Sorry for my english :D

luck is the best when it is your turn but when it is against us it is the worst hahahaha, I already have more than a month of bad luck, obviously in freeroll games, hahaha last month I won more than $ 200 in just two weeks with Very good hands that connected colored stairs to a colored staircase, but now no project works for me, or the hands are won by bad beats, hahaha I am able to do a spiritual clean or something like that, hahahaha

Luck is more important only in freerolls and low levels, as many bets like roulette. I don't see that at high stakes.

Luck is preparation + opportunity, and even though it does apply to poker, it's not the deciding factor between being a successful poker player or a fish. If luck had a significant role in poker, there is statistically no chance for anyone to repeat as a champion. Have you ever seen a professional roulette player?

Waaaaasup, everyone, My supposin' is luck it's the thang, which can be helpful only in one moment, when u go all-in, we can say on the preflop, but on PS, there is no luck, especially on the preflop when you have KK against 73o for example, n he will get straight

No, in roulette you can win only if u have a luck, though many playas think, that there's so many strategies n they gonna abide 'em, but I suppose you can win there if u are lucky😁

What is ONE B/W, I don't know that, that's strategy, isn't it?

They tried to enter the casino, put ALL their money on BLACK or RED and then hope for the best. Others looked for crooked wheels that made the ball land in specific sectors of the range and there was even a guy (Hungarian I believe) that employed a speed+momentum detector he had smuggled inside his shoe.

There are only two game options, either you win with luck, or you win by fighting with luck. Luck is also a very important element of the game, if You will be dealt terrible cards all evening, you will not be able to get out of it with one skill.

from my experience with online gambling. I noticed that luck was more inclined to be on your side. if you had to play well during your first hands early in the game. looks like on the online game. players who are daring or who, for example, do not hesitate to bet * 3 their opponents' bets to be able to bluff them more easily after the flop are rewarded with better hands in the middle of the game. it's just an impression, but it got stronger over time. in any case what is certain is that without it. you cannot win a tournament but just survive and reach ITM places in the best cases thanks to skills and a lot of patience.

Well, if you are lucky it can be pretty easy :) but I hope that if you will learn a good strategy you can play even if you don´t have a lucky day :) but maybe I am wrong :D

I don't know if luck helps the good player or the good player knows how to use good luck. I think you can be lucky, but if you don't know how to use it, you will lose, and it only takes advantage when you know how to play. Our decisions also become luck or opportunism. EJ: (FINALLY A GOOD HAND AND I LEAVE !!), bad luck, bad decision ??.

Look, luck can blind you for a while. Don't rely too much on luck as you can fail against a luckier player.
