This seems like a really good idea. I've always been pretty good at recording stats - I have a spreadsheet recording the very first real money session I played, and every one since.

However, after playing at a level at which I'm (almost certaininly) not good enough to play at, then tried other games NL, S&G toutney etc, I decided on 30 October to go back to my roots (limit cash games) and start all over at low levels (25c / 50c). I'll therefore start from the close of play on 30/10/2007

Day 0: 100% ($131.82)
Day 1: 90% ($118.17)
Day 2: 103% (135.32)
If I'd quit an hour earlier ago it would have been MUCH better, but that's a bit like saying "I'd have won that hand if I'd had AA rather than 7 2o". Doesn't always work that way.

Incidentally, how often do we update this - daily, weekly, monthly or just when there is something significant?

You can update as often as you like. But I hope people will not only update their progress when they make a profit and keep quiet when they don't.
Losses are part of the game, and when you're in a losing streak it'll be very motivational to see that others don't win every time they play either.

Personally, I'll probably update almost every day I've played (haven't played today), but it's really up to you.

Either way, keep 'em coming :)

Day 0 - 100% ($650)
Day 1 - 107% ($701)
Day 2 - 112% ($732)
-----------------------------------------------

Just finished a "Sit and Go Madness" session on FTP. I MT'd 4 $22 SnG's and ran pretty well, I made a beast of a mistake on the bubble though in one of the games. Really overplayed AQ on an A88 flop vs a made full house with AA. But you live and learn I guess. I finished with a win and a 3rd place out of 4 but I am still a little disappointed with my bubble play as above... There is always tomorrow (or even in about 20 mins.)

Day 2: 103% (135.32)
Day 3: 101% (133.67)

I don't often bother with freerolls - if I wanted to gamble on the toss of a coin, I'd toss a coin! However, I decided that a change is as good as a rest so gave it a go. I make a MASSIVE 10c, finally loosing may patience (and my stack) on pocket 9's that hit trips on the flop and lost out to better trips (10's).

Day 0: 100% ($2,000)
Day 1: 96% ($1,920)
Day 2: 105% ($2,101)
Day 3: 99% ($1,982)
Day 5: 121% ($2,421)

Finally a day where things worked out for me. There were only a few bigger suckouts and I'm extremely happy with my play.
I tried a few small-buyin MTTs but didn't make it too far in any of them. Thus, SNGs were the main source of profit.

I'll join in. The way I'm attempting to build this bankroll to a greater amount is by looking for tables where the avg. pot size is rather large. (tilting/loose play). I play good cards and attempt to at least double up before leaving the table. Greater Risk = Greater reward. It's worked for about a week. I'm obviously playing in lower limits, and this won't work forever, if it does. Changes will have to be made when stepping up, but, let's see what happens. Btw, I'm playing exclusively in rings. No tourneys or sngs.

Day 0: 100%
Day 1: 107%

I started the day with a losing session, went back down to $650. But then my last session of the day was a beast... Out of the 4 games in MT in each session I scored 2 first places, a second and a third which lead me to break $800 for the first time.

Im rebuilding my BR, but Im doing something a lot different than my usual BRM.

Actually, i pretty much threw the BRM plan out the window and Im taking more of a gamblers approach to building my BR. Ill post the results after a while...maybe 50 SNG sessions.

GL on building your BR though.

Damn Philthy.....I thought that you were going to stake me the 50 bucks!!

LOL

If I'm being brutally honest, I didn't play too well in the early part of the session. I overplayed KK against a very timid player who was raising me like a maniac, but got lucky and hit trips on the river (against his AA)! After that reality check, I played a pretty steady game, and can't recall more than a couple of relatively minor bad beats. If only all days were like this straightforward.

Day 6: 169% ($3,375)

I had a pretty sick run today despite things starting out badly. I joined a $100 Turbo SNG by accident. If you've never played a Turbo on Ongame before (like me): you start out with 1,500 chips. After 15 hands, the blinds were 100/200. With just over 1,000 left in my stack, I had to push A8 in hand #16 and got destroyed by AK.
This must be the craziest blind structure ever. It was like playing roulette, what a waste of money!

Needless to say that all the other SNGs I played were normal ones with nice 2,000 chip stacks and 10 minute blinds.
I finished in the money several times and made 1st twice. What a nice boost.

I only played 4 SnG's today and played the best poker I have played in a long time. 2 first places and a 3rd, which I should have finished second but really misplayed a hand 3 way. I am so close to breaking $1000 for the first time which is awesome, My rakeback should also clear tomorrow meaning I will actually break $1K. Let the Downswing commence

Edit - I just checked and my RB has cleared it looks so good!!!

Congratulations! This is an important mark.

BTW, If your Cashier reads over 1 grand, I think your progress update should reflect that.
After all, rakeback just means you paid less fees which is perfectly fine.

Very nice skd.
The type of tables I'm looking for aren't as plentiful as one might hope on the weekend where the kids come to fool around? eh. Well, I sat in on a table or two and came out alive. I'm too tired and real work has to be done. So, that should be it for the day.

Oh boy, this run is getting scary. My hands hold up so frequently right now, it's unbelievable

Unfortunately, we all know how it feels when things are reversed and the beats don't seem to stop.
I just hope that once things start to normalize again, the downward slope won't be as steep as the upward one.

In the meantime, I strongly suggest you avoid playing at my tables at the moment :D

As the ipoker network is the only one I've not yet tried, I opened an account at Betfred today. The software is horrible (in my opinion - others may like it) but who cares. Playing low stakes limit poker on poker stars is like playing wsop compared to this place! Okay, that judgement is only based on one days play, but I've never seem so many ultra-passive calling stations in one place in my entire poker playing life. Long may it last.

I sat at a couple tables, without much luck. It seemed I couldn't win a hand for the longest time. Getting out kicked, out rivered...or whatever. I think my game play changes during the week for certain reasons and I don't catch on until it's slightly too late. Then a downward spiral starts, and I regain my composure, and start to play how I wanted to, to begin with. I broke my own rule and bought into a tourney in midst. Though, I doubt it helped me as much as I hoped, it got me back on track. I hit a straight flush in the rings and was in comeback status until I quit for the evening. The seemingly never-ending cycle of ups and downs, then landing in the same place I started is getting quite tiresome. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
It looks like, when everyone else surges, I slump. lol Hopefully I'll join in on the fast train to becoming filthy rich with ya'll. Nice jobs. :)

I played a $20+2 Rebuy MTT today with 400 entrants. Since I'm strictly following Chris Ferguson's bankroll rules, at the moment I can spend a maximum of $80 on any one multi table tournament.
And this is exactly what I ended up doing. First of all, I rebought right at the beginning of the tournament to double up, like I always do. Things went along fine until my KK went all-in preflop against AKs and the Big Slick hit the flush.

This knocked me down to 200 in chips. I rebought twice to bring myself back up to 3000 in chips and went on to finish the tournament in 28th place when my 88 got smoked by JJ after I had to push my short stack.
Note that I didn't buy the addon because this would have brought my total tournament buy-in up to $100 which the rules don't allow.

Total profit was a mere $20 because the big money is obviously to be found at the final table.

I also played a bunch of SNGs and managed to make a profit even though I wasn't 100% content with my play today.
