To be honest I do not remember very well, but I think it was first watching videos and guiding me by pokerstars school; and then I started to read books but I still have much to learn.

I came up in online poker before the era of training sites and coaching and forums so those weren't really options. I learned mostly from just ridiculous amounts of play and then reviewing my hands after sometimes. I read a few books as well.

And you wrote some too!

Good to hear from you again, Nathan.

you can learn a lot from people who plays well.
you can read books about poker and get more info on the game.
you can watch pro poker players tables online.

try ace poker drills, it should help you get used to some situation you may get in to playing online.

I started end of december and since then studied 30% of my time for poker. I had become better and better and at least I win much playmoney tournaments and am +ev in my playmoney bankroll.
Mostly I watched/read special tutorials online or just watched finale tables of big tournaments (e.g. wsop). From those final tables I learnt more than expected!

I definitely got interested after i made a lot of playchips on my PS acc. when had lets say no clue what i was doing, buy i guess other players just thought of me as a loose player, and i was allowed to get away with some hands, but after that and couple of scores on freerolls i decided to take a more serious approach to poker, started looking at plays some pros did on youtube, whatching hands the played, try to figure out how they approach this game, and to try to find out why some times they play the way they do or how to pull of a bluff, had trouble to pull of a bluff now i can say i have a neck to pull of a perfect bluff :D got the basics down to perfection, my reading ability is also good not the best, but just today i scared off all the players on my table after correct calling their hand b4 showdown 3 times in a row :D i am a bit over confident with my play which the variance keeps punishing over and over again, i know at least i did the right thing and played my hand the way it supposed to be played, but the poker gods were not on my side :D

I started about 4-5 years ago, my friend told me to try it out.
Didn't like it at first because at that time it felt like "gambling".
My friend then coached me in how to play the game and it starts opening my eyes on the game of poker.
Even now i consider myself a fish, but i do earn a bit from it playing online.
one thing i can say is that, i have never deposited more that $10 in any poker site online. the $10 was just to activate and to be able to withdraw the fund.

One thing that helped me or anyone playing online is the invention of the HUD, without it, i would have lost a lot of money playing poker.

I play using HM2 with Leak Buster and it helped in the table.
For now I believe that poker is a game of Skills, even if you get shity cards, if you play it right. you still have a chance of winning.

My first poker experience was on facebook, on Zynga Poker. That's the place where I learned the basics. It was a lot of fun for me at the time. There were a lot of levels, achievements and challenges to complete and I pretty much completed the most of them. Then I started playing on online sites for a couple of years, then I got bored of the game and didn't play for more than 3 years. Recently, couple of months ago I got back to playing online. I have seen some videos on TV and internet where pros played on a live high stakes poker cash games and tournaments and I found them really entertaining and fun. So that is also one of the reasons I started playing poker, but mostly I am self taught. Learning from experience is really important in poker.

I learned on PS back when it was still legal or semi-legal in america. Well, I guess I'm still learning, but that was when I first started playing. Then it was illegaql and I didn't play for years, until last year, then I picked it up again because there are few a few legal sites for americans now.

When I started playing poker thinking that I play well, just my opponents were like me, unfamiliar with the game , so I had these visions , then started playing with more serious opponents and saw that something was wrong, I started reading materials , tables, watching video tutorials now play, but there is always more to learn , and by the time the game is changing, I wish success

My grandmother, since I was 5. Started off with 5-card variants, then moved up playing starting to play 5c/10c 5-card variants, with the family on weekends at the age of 17, when I was working part-time during college.

On my own initiative, I started practicing NLHE later in life, around '05 - I was around 25 at the time, playing on freeplay online multi-player networks. I was drawn to it, like whoa!

Soon after, I played with micro-stakes on partypoker, before the UIGEA Bill was passed, in America, which shutdown online poker in America.

I haven't played NLHE at all since until 2013, when I moved to the UK, I got back into NLHE full-swing, at live venues, and back online.
