I played 5 card draw when I was 8 years old with family members, played for change but I remember getting heated when I lost

Then in my early teens me and some school friends would play stud

Around 98 I was introduced to limit holdem from my uncle, him and his friends played it, he learned the game while he lived in Texas for a few years, very few people knew what holdem was around here

Then I started playing no limit in 03 when everyone else did cause of moneymaker win in wsop

Been playing no limit hard ever since

A few years ago I started taking PLO seriously because the live ring games at casinos are very juicy and full of fish

The super fishy ring games of the early to mid 2000s are pretty much over at the casino I play at, even most 1/2 players know the basics. But sometimes you can still find a real fishy table

I first starting playing online around the time that ESPN started their poker room. You would play for prizes. That was where I first put a lot of time into online poker.

poker is like life, the best thing to learn is with the experience, hearing people opinions and taking your own conclusions. there is no real truth in poker like in real life.

Remembered today as the first time I played poker. When I was 14, in my yard it was popular to play cards, going to the companies and played a thousand fool, borax, etc. Then one day someone suggested a game of poker. Rules no one really knew, first ever out of dispute.
Later, when I was in University, I learned about poker over the Internet, and decided to learn to play. Decided to get a no Deposit bonus through a well-known website. To get it,you had to pass a quiz, and read the rules poker games on the site. I began to read articles on the websites of poker topics and forums

How I started

One of my friends (coincidentally from Texas) taught me how to play no limit Texas hold em. After learning the rules I started playing online. I've read books (Harrington, Phil Gordon, Matt Janda, David Sklansky, etc). I played more and read more. I got into using Equilab and analyzing my play in Poker Tracker. Poker is a lifelong journey!

I learned how to play most card games when I was young staying with my grandma. We use to play uno , rummy and war. But I didn't really get into the game until I seen Chris Moneymaker on Espn during the WSOP. I was at a friends house drinking and BRBQ. When we learned he bought in for under 100 and won a WSOP package and is running good in the 10,000 buy-in, we were hooked. I took it more seriously then my friends. I bought a pc and downloaded a few poker sites. At that time I couldn't deposit. I looked around on some sites and seen a few different freerolls by poker forums. I checked out the poker forums and joined a few. I also found the, Tips from the pros , section on ftp. It was cool every day I would get a new tip sent to me threw my email from FTP. So I learned playing in freerolls and reading the tips from the pros section on FTP.

How I Started to Play Poker

I have just recently joined the world of poker, through my boyfriend, playing online and live tournaments, which helped me to develop an slight interest in the game, however this got a lot stronger when we travelled to LasVegas and witnessed the world series of poker live. It was an absolute fantastic opportunity, if you ever get the chance certainly take it and don't look back.

I played a fair few freerolls when I started, I even placed in my first one! It was only for a tiny amount but it was a cash out of over 8000 players. I always say it was my lucky 3 cent, how sad ehh??

I am hoping to continue to increase my learning through the research of books and videos and hopefully have the confidence and ability to play live one day afterall that is my next accomplishment!

I remember my first experience was 5 card draw when I was perhaps 8 or 9 years old and we played for peanuts...literally. We ate most of our stack while we were playing.

How I learn and continue learning to play poker

I learned by watching some friends play on occasion and started playing myself when I met my husband and he played. I love watching videos, hearing others talk about how they play and put everything together with my own twist of things and I have turned out to be a great player. I prefer to play live but love online playing too when the people who are playing are playing serious.

I learn to play poker in a live friendly league.
The main goal was to earn a league point.
But the league closed suddenly.
It was in this league that I learn the poker basics.

Played on the stakes using the website parimatch. Once among his services, poker appeared. And I decided to try. He studied the rules and began to play freerolls. Then there was a connection to the network of Ipoker and it became more interesting to play increased rake and prize money in MTT. Later this room was closed more correctly, she left Ipoker and connected with pokerdom now there are about 2,000 players online and I left to play pokerstars.
