How much did you spend before you made profit?

I probably made about 5 or 6 $100 deposits at various online sites before I finally got a big score on Pokerstars (a few weeks before Black Friday). Eventually got about $3,000 off Pokerstars, then have since made probably another 5-6 online deposits of $100, first at Lock, then Bovada and then Cabron. Had a $1,500 cashout pending on Lock Poker, but of course, that cashout is never going to happen. Have had one more cashout from Bovada of $600 and right now I'm in limbo. Down to my last few bucks on Carbon and don't want to play on Bovada any more. Am trying to build up a bankroll through ACR and the CC freerolls, but it is slow going. Do not feel comfortable putting any more money into Carbon. Am starting to play more at my local pub league (usually 1-2 times a month) and that along with the CC League play is enough for me right now and various other CC tournaments, along with the occasional trip to a casino.

What's the play like at the local pub? I always find that playing very tight against the general public is good, they never want to fold so you can crush them with a good hand

If I remember well, I deposited around $30 to Everest poker...a few weeks later I withdrew it. After then I played in many freerolls in many rooms, and started to build a bankroll. I'm lucky because I didnt lose a cent from my money and at that time (around 2009) there were many-many freerolls with a lot of bad players.

I was always a winning player. I got a free $25 from a site and ran it up to $200 or so in limit poker in like 2013 or something. Then I played more limit on stars, deposited $200 on tilt to clear a bonus, hit a downswing, recovered, played some no limit.

in 2003 won first tournament i played online

it wound up being the start of bankrolling 50 some sites

i won on americas cardroom and had to turn the money over 3 times on sports betting

i used that money to fund a ton of sites and kept playing freerolls till had a really decent bank

i lost money on jetset poker close down and never got my money from ultimate bet absolute poker and fulltilt poker

the rest of the sites prima i lost some too

pokerstars and others have carried over my money pokerstars even added bugsys place money to my bankroll which i withdrew

now have money on americas cardroom black chip poker fullflushpoker intertops poker players only poker betonline poker and carbon poker

i have won freerolls on each site either in events here or freerolls for their sites

Those Jackpot games are the best. I play cash games and Sit N Go's as well.

are we talking cash or online? i first started on pokerstars in 2008, deposited the minimum of $10 dollars a few times before i starting cashing in MTT's. it took me a whole summer of playing cash at the casino until i started making money. maybe lost about 600-700 dollars before i started to get better

I kow it sounds like a joke but there was big market then.
I always won at micro and small stakes MTTS/SNGMTTS and around 2009- 2010 I played double up sngs for a living for about 6 months, which was the most unsatisfying experience ever. Yes I made money, bonus whored and such but I burned out. Then life got in the middle and wasn't able to play regularly for some years, and now I am trying to get back to it .
It is MUCH harder now but I am trying to focus on enjoying the game more than making money.

So the short answer would be nothing or just a couple of min deposits for bonuses

approximately 30 percent of all depends on my bankroll management and game plan in the long term. if that kind of hit in the top three, I have a choice, either to move to higher limits, or I can remove 90% of the prize, to be honest, I always chose the second. I'm rather curious to know how much to spend, in terms of bankroll management because I am motivated by emotions (to go somewhere, relax), I would like to know the opinion of experts

I believe i invested/deposited around $100 initially to get started and lost of a lot it, playing players better than me at MTTs.

After loosing a major chunk of my bankroll, I understood I needed to play lower stakes and build up gradually.

Following this, I have been able to crush most of the STTs and some low stake MTTs. I believe, more important is improving and adjusting yourself to the dynamics of the game than how much money you put deposit.

There are people who built their bankrolls with freerolls and there are people who have lost $$$ and never seen a profit.

Not going to lie, i have only played for 2 months, so far i have deposited around 110 dollars, and i have lost it all.

Won a freeroll 6 days ago, where i won 3.6 dollars which has now turned into 20 dollars, but still at a loss. That's what i get for racking disciprin

A tournament has 10% to win, 90% to lose.
For 100 tournaments only 1% to win, 99% to lose.
IF one can't win in first 10 tournament, there is less chance to win.
