How does poker affect your social life?

That depends how good of a player you are.
If you constantly lose money, sure, it will affect your social life negatively and vice versa.
I cant imagine that poker experience could have no affect to outside world. It may not be apparent since player shouldnt be carried away, but it influences outside experiences one way or another.

First on has to Have a social life !
Sooo when I have to go out , or we have company , I do think of the games I am missing , but then I have to think of the fact that I would have probably have been knocked out ... so this is a love /hate thing LOL

In my social life poker has positive effects. Whenever I play a live tournament in my city I make some money, the bad part is that half of what I get I have to share with my wife so just so she lets me go and play LOL kkkkkkk

depending on where you play since I think it only widens your social life but if you spend all day online it may affect your social life and if you go to illegal places where poker play you will start to meet people with not very good view
