Social life? What's a social life? I don't get time for a social life what with playing poker all the hours god sends!

Ah! I see your point! Only kidding. Love playing poker and see it as part of my social life. It's important though to find time to spend away from the tables to be with loved ones and friends and stay alive to all of the other wonderful things that are in the world..... like pubs, cinema, sporting events, libraries, old buildings, the countryside, etc.

Nothing should get in the way of your social life, but your social life should also not take over your world!

Ha! Its influence cannot be ignored! Some people change their mind about me when they get that i playing poker. Some of them to good and some to bad.

Also, sometimes there is selections between real life deeds and online game, and sometimes it's hard.

Poker could be good or bad, depends on the importance you give to your social life

For me it's pretty positive. I use what I have learnt at the tables to actively put myself into positive environments. Plus talking about poker who don't play or barely play at all is pretty cool, when they get excited hearing about stuff it reminds me how I used to get when I first started winning tournaments/ cash games.

If you grind really hard and you do it for living, I believe it can have very negative effects on your social life. Beucase the best games are played in the evening. So when you are at work (playing poker) most of other people have free time, so you cant get in touch with them. And when you have free time, most people are working during day... Also playing poker for living has to be pretty stressful, and thats also not very good for general mood and social life I guess...

Hmmm with a family it's probably negative, going deep in a tournament is time consuming, go bust before the money etc mainly negative, other than gaining experience. Mood swings to deal with too. On the positive side your playing poker, can't grumble to much lol

During the game, I'm a lot nervous. This is bad for those who are close to me. Therefore, in my opinion, you need to take a break more often.

Poker for me is just a hobi and in it I play in my free time from work. So that he does not interfere with my life.

Like everything else, poker has its positive and negative sides, but I think it influences more negatively, due to the time I spend studying and playing, but it has its positive sides as well, a slight financial return and my fun.

A little always gets in the way, especially if you are in a relationship. But, you always have to do some sessions while she paints the nails.lol

Poker doesn't affect my social life but I think it can affect it badly, if you get too addicted and don't stop when you are losing.

Like every game we should not let poker dominate us, as long as we are responsible in the decisions we make to play without fanaticism, we will be enjoying poker, not if it becomes an obsecion or addiction

Like anything, if you want to be the best you can't expect to stay friends with the suckers at the table.

Poker has Introduced me to so many people from all walks of life.I am speaking from a live game perspective of course. The online poker doesn't change much for me other than I might sometimes stay home because I ran deep in a tourney and have to stay and finish

I definitely don't have a social life at the moment, as I'm trying to build my bankroll. In time I'm hoping that poker with give me the freedom I need to spend away from the tables doing other things/socialising.

This being said, poker is saving my life, since I've started playing I've improved my health (cutting down on drinking) and my decision making away from table has greatly improved, just waiting for my bank balance to do the same and I'll be onto a winner. This has come at the cost of my friends and family, hopefully in time this will change. GL all!

It's all in what you allow imo. If you blow off appointments or dates with friends to play than that can lead to negative however all play it's a conversation piece or if you are profitable allows you to do more activities which would be positive
