How Do You Find the Time for Poker?

I usually play poker in the evening after work for 1-2 hours, but not every day and sometimes on weekends, if I don't spend time with my family.

How Do Find the Time for Poker?

I am extremely fortunate/blessed. After the quarantine was mandated and I was forced to work from home, I spent the time locked in my apartment learning about the stock market. I had been passively managing a couple of portfolios prior to that plandemic but the quarantine period allowed me the opportunity to become intimately acquainted with my holding and I spent night and day learning as much as I could. By the start of 2021 I had advanced to options trading and the rest is history. I retired from my career as a CPA in January of 2021 and now I literally get to do what I want, whenever I want to. Therefore, all I do these days is manage my portfolios and play poker. I do take breaks from poker from time to time just because I think it is necessary just to stay sharp especially when I experience those periods where I'm running bad and my cards aren't hitting. I am fortunate to be able to play as often as I want to though and I mentioned in an earlier post that my dream has always been to be a professional gambler. Now I get to pursue that dream whole-heartedly and I am committed to making it a reality in the near future.

This is also due to the time of year, in winter it turns out to play more, in summer less, and in addition to poker, there are a lot of other household chores

I ask this question because unlike myself being disabled and plenty of time on my hands, I know many of you all work and have responsabilty through out the week. So with all those things going on, how do you find time for poker? Do you all set times to play. I know some people may play while at work. Like if to have an office job. But what about construction workers, or other work like driving for UPS, or working at a hospital doing maintenance. Then there is the fact you are really tired after going home and knowing you have to be at work the next day too, so you have to wine down and rest. So what else do you do other than play poker when you have time?

Dear friend, I work just as you describe it, I am in the civil service but I still find time at lunchtime, on my way home on the bus and at any time I can but obviously I get home tired and the game I play is more for fun than for a second profession, but on weekends after getting my things ready for the next week I can play a little and with the time to make good games.

I play freerolls online after work if i'm not doing much. Live, I play on rare occasions when I can and don't have my son with me and can afford to take the day. I play seriously live so everything has to be going good in order for me to sit down and play. many times I make it to the casino and don't end up playing because it doesn't feel right at the last minute. no shame just patience.

I found to much time to play yesterday. I actually got tired of looking at cards. I was going to play the CC freeroll at ACR, but at 7:30 I unregistered, watched some TV and went to bed. Before I quit, I was playing like crap. I know better, so losing the MTTs I was playing is nothing more than me. GL today you all

Like a lot of other players, I pretty much play on Friday through Sunday.

Sometimes I will see a tournament starting late on a weeknight, but know that I will probably end up falling asleep if I last a while.

Like yourself I am in a position where I can play whenever I want, because of a heart condition I am retired now and can play all day, every day, if I so wanted to do. I cannot walk for miles or do anything too strenuous, so the only enjoyment I now have is Poker or T.V. and as there is usually rubbish on the goggle box, so I prefer to keep my grey matter working by playing Poker.
It is great exercise for the brain, and although my body is shot and I cannot physically exercise, I can still enjoy myself.

Weird question. Actually, those who play poker don't have this problem. Time is always and everywhere. Poker is so exciting that people play online even at work.

Thanks for all the great replies you all. I read them all. This looks like it's 50/50 to find the time. Like me, many have plenty of time. Then the other half really have to set times to play. I know that has to be hard sometimes. I seen a tread saying "For the love of poker" and I guess the fits us all. GL you all if you play today.
