yeah, there are so many shortstackers it's pretty bad. i dunno if it's that bad on stars

Especially if you're not 16-tabling just get deep tables. When mixing limits on FTP I can usually get 16 deep tables and even when I can't I can always get ones without shorstackers to my immediate left or right. Just because it's a deep table doesn't mean you have to buy in for more than 100 BBs.

problem is at a lot of times the deep tables are completely filled with regs in which case i'd rather play a fishier regular table

Especially if you're not 16-tabling just get deep tables. When mixing limits on FTP I can usually get 16 deep tables and even when I can't I can always get ones without shorstackers to my immediate left or right. Just because it's a deep table doesn't mean you have to buy in for more than 100 BBs.

^^^^^this. The greatest thing about deep tables is that the minimum buy-in is 50bb instead of 20.
