Some players strategy is just that, luck and run good.
They are commonly known as gamblers.
Never complain when they hit time and time again.
90% of the time that's where your stack comes from and they deserve to win also.

In every tournament you win you will have at least between one and three hands that you win only with luck, like those that you say you push with 78 and end up getting a straight, I believe in my humble opinion that to win a tournament you need technique, tactics , knowledge, good game, temperance, perseverance, patience and also sleep

It's like you say, you have to play in the best possible way so that luck doesn't have much influence, but sometimes it happens, I did well in a MicroMillion tournament and on a fairly neutral Board, they beat my KK with AA and that's what I I didn't have the initiative, I was Top 20 and they dropped me almost at the end and to top it off, the same guy beat my AA with a straight and eliminated me 😪

I have had players belittle me in the past and even very recently for my play. All you can do is let they have there laugh and just let it go. Recently i was called recklus by a player who did not seem to notice I had top set and he only had an underpaid. Guess I should have folded there. Yeah he had the last laugh hitting runner runner to beat me.

As for you play, It is possible you made a bad play so don't just just dismiss his coment. Look at the play and make sure it was a smart call. There are times we should fold there and its possble to look and learn if you find you did make an error.
That's right, me particularly, I didn't call with AJ, even if I was short in chips, I would use that hand with initiative.

I try to play more hands nowadays . I believe RNG f***s me many times , deep in a sat or a tourney , that way I cannot move up stakes or increase gameplay volume . Nowadays everyone plays with the RNG. Yesterday , he limped 7-8 blinds 77s , I shoved AQ he called and won , some strategies reward more on the long run , despite odds , because of stupid RNG .

But that doesn't mean I am good , not even an average player , but I do believe I could have better results , RNG f***s me , I have to watch many tables , games , dedicate hours on this , I postpone this all time , but it has to be done sometime ...

If you are not sure you can win, why play? Self-confidence is needed as much as happiness. You can have the best card when you open it and you lose and vice versa, being confident in your decisions helps. The result shows whether you are making the right decisions and how you assess the risk.

I think just about everybody thinks they are better than they really are....myself included. :)

As long as you don't set unrealistic expectations, you can get what you want out of poker and not drive yourself crazy doing it.

When I win a tournament I feel like I'm a great player, when I lose fast I feel like I'm a bad player.

I think I'm a middle-class player. But I'm trying not to play for luck. I trust my many years of experience more.

Luck is an integral part of the game. But I rely only on my own skills and experience, I never rely on luck. Although in any case, luck is necessary for victory, because without luck, there is practically no chance of success.

No I don't. But I think I'm worse then I really am. If I'm "in-money" or I play final table I'm always thinking that this was only luck. But sometimes I played really well. And in last time I play much more final tables or I'm at least "in money". Hopefully will become better players with even more confidence.

If you are like me you know that along with all the skill in the game…there is a little luck involved in poker. The objective of the game is to reduce the impact that the luck (good or bad) of 1 hand does not determine your final outcome. However…are you able to recognize that you have been outplayed by someone and that is was luck that won you the tournament? Or do you believe that because you won the tournament, you outplayed everyone?

When you shove your 78 suited trying to steal the blinds…get called and hit a straight to win…do you think…that guy shouldn’t have called so it was a bad call on his part…or…you got lucky?

I only ask, because tonight I was unlucky and I was outplaying my opponent…they seemed to think I made a bad read when I called his KQ with my AJ and he hit his K to knock me out…
I'm not better than anyone, I try to improve every day, but I'm always losing to the variance that is common in poker and of course, in one or another play, the luck factor is decisive.
My knowledge and skill is what will take me to the end of a tournament, I can't rely on luck alone.(y)

In poker, you play against the people, not the casino.
The main reason why poker is a game of skill and not luck is that, unlike all other casino games, your main opponents are other people, not the establishment itself.

No one will ever tell you that poker is easy. In fact, this is one of the most difficult games in the world, which is far too tough for a few. That is why only about 5% of players win in poker.

And that's exactly how it should be.

In poker, someone always has to lose so you can win. And all these people lose only because they do not understand the true nature of this game.

And the fact remains that poker in the long run is a game of skill, not luck. And the top players who win year after year are a vivid confirmation of this.

The main idea in poker is to constantly realize your strategic and psychological edge over your opponents, and then you will inevitably win.
