Five days a week at a minimum but typically standard play would involve seven days a week. Some players prefer less some would rather absorb themselves and stay engaged at all times.

I'm trying to play at least an hour everyday as I believe consistency is key, mostly just cash games and some freerolls at the moment.

there are weeks when I play every day - but sometimes I also take a break for a week to miss the game

Yes, I play poker every day. I usually play freerolls and win some, I lose it in a short time. But that’s not a problem because poker is just a good pastime for me.

Well, you guessed it right.
I used to play 12 hours this year every day. I spent over $ 600 in February in no more than ten days, and that amount is not easy for me. That's why I asked the question.
Check out Responsible playing.

I know the responsible gaming feature, it's important, but for the most extravagant gamers, I'm not one of them

No, and when I do string a period where I play day in day out I have noticed my plays slipping. I suppose I am just not build for the poker grind, keeping it a recreation is where poker lands with me.

I play every day, but in shorter sessions, and I will take a break if I feel that I am playing worse than usual for more than 2 sessions.

 Well, I am not playing every day, because I am blocked in cardschat and in pokerstars, I am waiting for the sanction to be removed.

Yes, I play daily and as a pro I can say that this way you widen your possibilities just by playing more and since the biggest cons is the time I dedicated to poker at the end of the week, it ends up being too much.
