Yes, when playing poker, I sometimes play in a casino, I bet only on color, sometimes I win money at roulette, and then I play poker tournaments for that money with that money.

Obviously I do not consider poker to be a "casino game" even tho that is where most live poker games occur...

I swore off all "built-in-house-advantage" games years ago but I fully admit I began my "career" (my hobby) as a blackjack player decades ago. But even then I was an oddball, I once drove 2 hours each way for 15 minutes of actual blackjack gambling time, I immediately reached my goal for the session and got right back in my car and drove the 2 hours back home... clearly my discipline was extraordinary even back then. LOL I love to tell the story just to see the look on gambler's faces.

I lost my bankroll a few times now playing casino. I think I learned my lesson, stick to poker. It's a safer bet, literally.

I used to occasionally play casinos at pokerstars until the restrictions were put in place. Now the PokerStars Sochi platform has no casino games.

Besides i get easily tilted when i go on a losing streak in casion games. ;-)
I perform much better when to fully concentrate on poker.

I think that is where the gambling impulse come from, it is hard to quit this behavior once you are conditioned to it, you need more discipline and self-control in order to overcome this.

I don't consider myself a player. I have always disliked slot machines, casinos, roulettes, bets, etc.
It's amazing that I got so into poker. But I don't even approach poker in terms of excitement. I like to strategize and improve the game.

Those live dealers used to be a nice substitute for real human interaction for me; that's why I was drawn to them in the first place. I mainly played Roulette, always betted only ONE dollar at a time, always on Black. That way I could stay on the table for as long as I wanted while goofing off in the chat, or exchanging quips with the dealer.
Blackjack however was a "great" way for burning my money fast, even though I really like that game.
