I see poker as a hobby that can generate income. It's not a job or a duty for me, but it's a great pastime that's good for my brain, my nerves, and my wallet.

If you consider working on yourself, overcoming anxiety, becoming more patient, developing logic, deductive thinking and mathematical abilities, then yes, this is work. If we are talking about the main method of making money, then no.

For me, poker is a hobby that allows me to spend my free time in the evenings after work in a fun and interesting way. I don't consider poker as a job, because my attitude to the game would be much different in that case.

Poker can be considered a job when it becomes a primary source of income and requires a significant time commitment akin to a full-time occupation. This typically occurs when a player consistently earns enough money from poker to cover living expenses and chooses to dedicate a substantial portion of their time to playing, studying, and improving their game. The transition to poker as a job often involves treating it with the same level of professionalism and discipline as any other career, including managing finances, setting goals, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

No, because I can't keep track of what I win in poker! It's a leisure activity for me.

I don't think poker is going to be my job, it's very hard. I play as entertainment in my free time with the opportunity to win money.

If it were solely up to me, obviously I would love for it to be my job. But there are several issues. First, I want to clarify that I'm nowhere near being able to consider that yet; I'm just starting to make some progress in freeroll tournaments. But even if I were at a higher level, there would be several concerns that would worry me.
Firstly, unless you have a sponsor, it would be very risky to make a living from this. If I were to consider dedicating myself fully to poker, I would do it as a secondary pursuit. I'd have a job to sustain myself, and whatever surplus I have, I'd invest it in poker.
Secondly, I believe it would be very psychologically challenging to depend on your results, especially when you're not well-off. I would be concerned about never being able to relax.

I never saw poker as something to make money. My focus has always been fun.

I have been playing for over 20 years, but for me poker is still a very pleasant way to improve my home budget.

No. I play for fun, though hoping some day to make money by playing poker and improving my skill level so that I become an advanced poker player :) I need to study more first!
