If the board is drawy you're no longer WA/WB you're BA/WB (Barely). It's fine to check these back as well and go for the delayed cbet on the turn when your equity is better.

Thanks, it's good to add these "standard" plays to my game. Obviously there will be times when i'll have to think like really aggro players but it's nice to have certain moves with solid reasoning. I admit I don't think as much as I should.

Really it comes down to having a reason for betting, which you should always do before mindlessly hitting the button. Think, am I bluffing or betting for value? How many streets of value do I think I can get from worse hands? What is my plan if my bet is called?

Do get him to do exactly what he did :D.
Honestly im not worried about any draws really(excepted KJ) and this guy was aggro spewmonkey that loved to pot it when checked to him.
I guess C/R the turn could be pretty sexy? But then where probably shuting out alot of his Tx and Qx.
I dont think he ever has TT+ here so the only possible set would be 33(or a rivered 44), So that leaves T3,KQ,Q3 and QT as his 2pair combos,Then some 1pair hands like maybe QJ and TJ,T9,Qx,Tx and a whole lot of air in his range.
Figured this is the best way to get the most from his range. Also after he pots the turn i dont think he ever checks back the river from what if seen from him.

yes, it's the cbet. This is a very standard check behind.

Well against a bad player it's only a check behind if we think he's going to be c/r lots. Otherwise it's a pretty standard value bet if he's passive.

Just nitpicking, but yeah you really should familiarize yourself with the concept, chippy.

I made this call before having reasonable stats on this guy. Once we know this guy holds any two suits reckon it makes up the majority of his range and no read is necessary?

1) Fold the flop imo. you have no outs and very unlikly u have the best all that often in a multway pot(especialy after UTG limp/calls)+ your OOP.

2).I kinda like trying to bluff the turn by barrreling but i hate c/c. Just c/f or b/f imo.

really easy flop fold in hand 1, i wouldn't be surprised if you're beat by both players and you're usually beat by 1. given the slim chance you aren't, their hands have equity while you're drawing dead every time you're behind

i would just c/f turn in hand 2, that bet size doesn't really look like a bluff and even if it is, you end up facing another bet on the river some % of the time and it's never a good spot

Now I think about it the description was quite mis-leading. It was just an explanation of why I 3-bet. I had him dominated with A4o lol.

Two winning sessions in a row make me like poker again.

My graph is now pointing up though far from positive :(. I also like that my red line has gone into the positive and has a nice upward slope that's earned me 3 buy-ins.

I know it's only a small part of how i'm running but being 10 buy-ins below ev is quite sucky, hopefully the last couple days is evidence that's improving.

I've also earned 7 buy-ins in rakeback which is pretty damn awesome if I say so myself.

I'm learning some new concepts thanks to some of the guys above and C9 is looking over some hands for me so that should really help.

Just update on my first 15k hands of 6-max 10nl, I think I need a blog so I can have somewhere to say this that nobody will read anyway :D.

Can I or more importantly should I find a fold for hand one or is ita straight up cooler?

EDIT: I thought about raising turn but decided not to.

Is hand 2 a WA/WB like we talked about before? I know with 2 overcards i'm more likely to be behind though. Is calling the turn ok and obvious river fold?

i'm cool with how you played hand 1. i mix up between leading flop and c/c. as played, c/c turn makes the most sense. and once i c/c turn i'd generally be going for the c/r on the river without some specific read that he value-bets way too tight. i'm snapping when he shoves, just super unlucky he had the nuts

hand 2 is definitely not a WA/WB because hands like JT, AJ/AT, and even just 2 overcards like 89 have anywhere between 25 and 50% equity against your hand. you have a very vulnerable hand. i'd just c-bet. he'll fold some hands with equity, some hands that beat you (88-JJ), and you won't get bluffed or put into bad spots on later streets by his other stuff. plus it balances your cbetting range

edit: a better example of WA/WB on that board would be AQ. and i'd pretty much always be checking that back looking to either bluff-catch if he starts betting, or get some value out of it if he checks again
