I don't see how this can fail...I'll just go to my local casino and give them my marked deck of cards and politley ask if they will use them at which point of course since I asked politley they will happily use my marked cards.

I think that's kinda of harsh (especially when they profess to it themselves). Besides he can't cheat us online unless (I'm mistaken on this topic, and he's some sort of superuser), so why ban him/her?

If he is a known cheater who would cheat his friends out of thousands of dollars then how can we trust him. He could cheat us online, there are tons of ways. I wouldn't trade with him. I wouldn't want to play with him since, well I'm not going to go into it, don't want to give anyone ideas. There are a lot of ways someone could violate the TOS. Either way, if CC is a World Wide Poker Community then I don't want cheaters in my community.

If they were crack dealers, screw em... Say ten Hail Mary's, fifteen rosary's., and throw in a few hundred Our Father's..

Now... if they were pot dealers, give it back with interest. Shame on you.

I'd rather be friends with a pot dealer than someone who cheats me out of thousands of dollars.

Obviously but that's not the point here is it? The point I'm trying to make is that we shouldn't be so hard to the OP (nor be lenient to him/her either). Yet who are we to judge him/her for there choices, when we ourselves wouldn't want to judged for our actions. Yes what they did isn't a good thing, nor is it something a friend does to friends, and shouldn't be tolerated, but at the same time (they did it). So all we can do is show them the errors of there ways, and help them but banning them isn't gonna resolve the issue (for us it will, 1 less cheater on this site), but is that really a solution for this?

1 other point, is maybe I didn't state this earlier "Is there Drgu dealers, (Now if they were friends that were drug dealers, different story, but from what I gathered there just dealers who happened to hear about him/her and wanted to take his/her money", Am I stating that it was correct to cheat them? All I'm saying is that crack dealers, make mothers into prostitutes, take the baby bonus money out the children's mouths, and posion the mothers with crack, I really have no sympathy for them

Am not trying to come across as being rude to anyone at all FYI, just stating I really can't stand crack dealers really reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly

Exactly. If he wanted to be a real member of this site you wouldn't start with this sort of post. I'm guessing he is never coming back anyways. Might as well insta-ban him but it prolly doesn't even really matter.

If you ban him you show that this is a community of people who all enjoy a game of skill and want to win fairly and with skill and that we reject cheaters.

If you let him stay you confirm what several congress members and lots of other people are afraid of, that we are all degenerates who are fine with cheaters, drugs, and screwing each other over, and that we would do anything to take money off each other, and that we are fine with welcoming people like that into our community.

Do we want to be a nice place of honest people that presents a positive image for poker, or a den of thieves?

Frankly, when this thread started I was expecting OP to use this post as an attempt to scam people in some way. Since it appears that all he wanted to do is confess his sins so to speak no ban needed.

First, he appears to not be coming back so its pointless. Second, we always say that people should be honest. He is being honest about something bad and stupid that he did. He appears to regret his actions. Why would we ban him for honesty?

Acknowledge your mistake and try to repair the injured as best as possible (including the return of money improperly gain) is a good start

He should be banned just so that we present a unified positive image to outsiders that the poker community is no place for scammers and cheats. Let's present a positive image. If we do that then poker might get legalized and also people will be more likely to want to take part in this community. If we say it's fine that he cheated and is sorry, we present a negative image that can be used against us in the court of public opinion, and it also makes others less likely to want to take part.

I agree with all of this except I don't think its +EV to try to track down drug dealers and try to explain that you stole from them and would now like to make it right.

While I have no great love for drug dealers they don't cause any of the things you listed. They help enable it but they don't cause it. People chose to take drugs. Once they become addicted they feel that they have no choice but they are the ones who started down that path. I've never heard of a dealer forcing someone to buy/use their product.

To make an analogy to poker, if you get in a game with a degen gambler who is putting his rent money in the pot are you going to stop him or are you going to try to bust him?

I'm pretty sure this is part of their corporate mission statement or some oath they have taken before they are allowed to deal.

Tell me what was going through your head when you were making this marked deck of cards, ohh yess im gonna steal from the people i love, you deserved to get robbed and held up at gunpoint. karmas a bitch and if you were my friend and i found out, i would curve stomp you and you'll have to get a new set of teeth!

While your correct, some people are just addicted to the point where they have no will power (Your correct they don't force it down there throats, but they do entice you with it), especially those that have weak will power.. Yet at the same time, it's the nature of the game, as you pointed out you need deg-ens in that game

I'm pretty sure this is part of their corporate mission statement or some oath they have taken before they are allowed to deal.

LMAO:)

I have cheated and lied and drank and stole and killed and maimed and masturbated and sold state secrets and invaded foreign countries and written bad checks and lied on my tax report and exaggerated on how big the fish really was and faked an orgasm and said yes when I meant no and said no when I meant yes and played 72o like AA and shoplifted and name dropped and overcharged for a used car and snuck out behind my parents back and drove while intoxicated and looked at the girl in the next desk's paper in a math test and kicked a cat and claimed my dick was 10 inches and swore I never did this with anyone before and have said "it is different with you baby" and I feel so much better now that I have confessed.

Close thread.......

that's the truest thing i read on this topic!

as for the confession....it was a new profile used to confess with i'm sure..was the first post made by that username anyways....so really, what good does that confession do but to somehow make the cheater and backstabber feel forgiven or justified? money is the root of all evil!! i love the game, the chance, the thrill, and the money can be an added bonus....;-)
but never let the money be the reason you play!! your morals and values and integrity are the highest stakes one can play for

im not so sure he isnt coming back...and really, i think youre correct that that wouldnt be the thread somebody would start with...hed want to be comfortable first...so im pretty sure hes been a member here for at least a short while. the site would have to track his ip, email info, and infor that he used that matches any other members info....cuz that most likely wasn't a 'one stop shop' confession. IMO
