I used to like sng’s, unfortunately there don’t seem to be any good games anymore (being in Ontario and stuck in a much smaller pool of players). I prefer tournaments over cash games, they are more fun to me
I liked sit n goes when i first started playing poker mad a lot of money in them. They helped playing against other players and also was good practice for final tables.
Cash games are more static but offer more opportunity to be very analytical street by street
Tourneys are much more dynamic but are more formulaic with certain stack sizes and scenarios dictating certain actions
So it all depends on preference and how your mind works when approaching the game.
Myself, I prefer and am more competent at tourney play. I can mix it up with the.. well I guess not best of em... the decent of em at cash games but I find more thrill in tournament poker.
Sit and Go. I don't like cash games, primarily because I always lose
But MTT tournaments or Sit and Go tournaments are a completely different matter. I have quite good results in tournaments and it is thanks to tournaments that my bankroll grows.
I find S&G tournaments easier to control the bankroll. It is very easy to break the bank in cash games.
However, in cash games you can win a lot. So today I play S&G but I think about one day moving to cash games. However, I will need to relearn Poker to play in this modality.
I dabble between the both as they both have there advantages and disvantages.
I will say one thing I found with online poker. I find that my cash games and tournament luck is very different. If I'm not doing well in one, then I will be doing super well in the other.
I prefer MTT and S&G. In cash game, especially micro stakes, it's like if you play against 2 types of player. Those who go all in with any cards and those who are waiting for sets with pocket pair or flush draw...
I hate online cash games. Never worked for me. Sng on the other hand have treated me much better. Live poker is different as cash games are much better for me
