Alcohol helps me to relax, but only in small quantities. Everyone must decide for himself to drink or not to drink.:)

Alcohol is not only not compatible with poker, it is not compatible with life at all. How can the poison be useful ?
It big quantities alcohol is def not good, but for some people in certain situations it does act as a "social lubricant". For example, if you were completely sober, maybe you would not have approached a girl you like in a a bar. Having a drink or two could make you more likely to do it. However, I think mixing alcohol and poker is a stupid idea.

I try not to drink while playing because I don't feel as sharp. So yeah I can relate to his problem drinking while playing.

On the one hand, it looks good. But it can be seen on the other hand, in order to meet a girl you need to drink a couple of glasses, it does not look so good

Alcohol and high-performance sports definitely do not match. Poker is a sport where your power of decision is your best tool. Alcohol changes the senses and decision-making power of plays, making you make the wrong decisions much more often. Poker is already competitive and difficult without drinking alcohol. After its ingestion is a total disaster.

Alcohol does not give a sober assessment of reality, and if at stake is a good jackpot, I would refuse to drink alcohol during the game. And then it is better to celebrate the victory.

Spot on. From experience I can tell it can be more enjoyable, but rarely more profitable.

I think your level of tolerance comes into play. I usually have a couple of drinks on the weekend when I am playing, and I do just fine. Cheers!

alcohol and poker

I think it's fun to have a drink when you play with friends, but on more serious occasions it seems to me that no activity is good with alcohol but if you are putting money in between;):top:

Comparable you mean? I drink more when I'm playing less. I only have three hands after all. Right, left, and 72. And with the 7 in one hand and the 2 in the other. How can I grab my drink? So no... I guess you're right. You shouldn't juggle n jack. Never thunk of it like that before. Dam these green suspenders :)

I count poker is a gambling game. So, definitely YES alcohol and poker are incompatible.

Alcohol and poker

Alcohol for poker makes you play fairly loose. So I would only recommend it if you are running hot at the poker tables. Otherwise, you will lose more times then winning in my opinion.

LOL@doug poker reference. But I think Doug Poker used to drink quite often when he was playing on Twitch.

I agree with some of the other opinions that a beer or two can help you relax, but getting wasted will definitely hinder your ability to play well.

I think you have to be totally aware of your opponents behavior and must not give anything away while playing. That being said i personally do not drink while playing poker and i guess i make the most money against people that do drink.

BEER!

alcohol and poker. I generally don't drink. however if I find that im sitting with some real loose aggressive players a few drinks can help me loosen up and play more aggressive and keep myself from overthinking things because of overbetting

I am no Men the Master. I can not drink all night and expect to go home with anything but a morning hangover.

I limit myself to one drink at the casino. I do this for 2 reasons, 1 is a single drink calms me some without having any adverse effects. 2 - I find that I get called a lot more often when players think I am drinking. Sometimes I will even order a second drink and pretend to drink it all night.
