You learn the most by analyzing your own game. Look at some important hands you've lost or won and try to figure out what you could have done better/ what you did right.
Yeah the problem is that "you don't know what you don't know", if you understand what I mean :)

I like to save hands as I play, as well as check what positions I profit, and which i dont. There is a lot to learn from looking at your own game and think on your own. I do this to develop my own style, always adapting to the game. The right strategy 10 years ago might not be the best today.

Thanks I will take a look. How solid is the advice there ?

Some of the best advise youll get on your game is leak buster ,besides hiring a coach it just doen't get much better. On both poker tracker and holdem manager you can trial both for a month each and at the end of the month use it to anylize your game.Other than that what specific questions do you have that you think you need to understand.Have you worked on preflop ranges to start with ?.

I totally agree. But a player must have good poker fundamentals and high sense of self-criticism and awareness in order to value from self analysis.

So Leakbuster was nice, but it only gave me general knowledge on what parts are my weaker parts. Also, I feel like the advice is too "generic" in the sense that it should show me different advice according to the stakes I play. For example, I might be folding to 3bets pre flop too much in middle stakes, but I feel that I'm not folding too much for Micros.

I worked on my preflop ranges using the charts and practice in Poker Fighter, I don't know how solid they are though. I was wondering if someone can validate them ?
Oh and by the way, I realized that Poker Fighter can also be played on a desktop!

https://www.poker-fighter.com

I personally prefer to use a mouse and a huge monitor when practicing for hours:)

Heres some ranges and advise on building ranges all on the tighter side to give you a very good base to begin with.Just start with the NIT RFI ranges(raised first in ranges)things like 3bet ranges youll need to do some research on as ive only included polerized tighter ranges. And you want to include linear ranges as'well and use a mixed strategy vs the regs, Linear ranges vs the fish and polerzied vs people with high fold to 3bet.But as a default i think these will work fine. And just play around with the ranges until your happy with them.

NIT

10% utg
15% mp
20% c/o
40% btn
30% sb

TAG

25% c/o

35% sb

LAG

30% c/o
50%+ btn
40%+ sb

then download combonator
https://combonator.com/

And from each position plug it into combonator and work out a 35% defense frequency vs a 3bet so 65% fold vs 3bet from each position and don't worry about being in or out of position. Just play out of position tight defense ranges to start with. This is quite a tight defense strategy the minimum defense is around 28% or 72% folds. So aim for something around 35% or 40% defend or 60% 65% folds vs a 3bet.

Heres some tighter cold call ranges , copy and paste to equilab and then you can plug them into flopzilla.https://www.pokerstrategy.com/poker-...quilab-holdem/

If you want a 4bet bluff range from each position work out your value combos and them devide it by 1.5 to give you a bluff ratio for your bluff combos. So for instance if you 4bet kk+ for value from utg that's 12 value combos which would give you 8 bluff combos needed. If you 4bet QQ+ AK for value from the CO then thats 34 value combos giving you 22 bluff combos needed.

Use flopzilla to store all the ranges to check while your playing

If you need any more advise just send me a pm or whatever and and ill try and help however i can.

Where do you play? If you play on BetOnline or Sportsbetting.ag, BEtOnline Card Catcher is a good software that grabs hand info from all your opponents in play, then exports it into a poker HUD that you can run with Holdem Manager (HM doesn't let players run poker HUDs, IDK why). Anyway, Card Catcher is also optimized for cash games and tournaments so you might want to check out their special combos to maximize your advantage in the game.

I suggest you try Ace Poker Drills's Preflop Trainer, probably one of the few Apps that show results in a week. just do the drills an hour or so before you start playing. you will notice that the time you need to make decisions are shortened, sometimes you make them by reflex. Easier for you to play multi-table

So funny that Iv'e encountered this thread by mistake.
Apparently someone from this thread just recommended the Poker Fighter and after a few days that I tried it myself, it is actually great. So fun and helpful.

It's a relatively new Poker Trainer, yet it gives me the exact boost that my game needed.

For all of you doubters, it has also a free web version (and also premium) and they also have an android App. You have absolutely nothing to lose.

Just wanted to update that I tried the premium subscription in Poker Fighter for 1 month, and I think this product is amazing. I just wish they will add End to End Pre-Flop to River simulations. Other than that, it really strengthened my basics and was fun to play.

I just wanted to tell you that a friend of mine saw this thread and recommended strongly that I have to try out the Poker Fighter (after he tried it out himself and digged it!). I have to admit that I fell in love with it immediately. It's so simple to use, so fun that the time completely flies by, and most important - it actually feels like my poker fundamentals and basic skills improve substancially every single day that I play.

Iv'e already purchased the 1 year premium account lol (I'm sure you also upgraded yours into a 1 year premium account).

Do you know by any chance if it's going to be on IOS as well? I'm so sad that I can't use the Poker Fighter android app.

InstaPoker seems very pricey, they charge $4 for only 10 hands! It seems like the worst ROI in the worl

I purchased the full version of Tournament Poker Coach -app (same than InstaPoker, but for tournaments). I will say my results got incredibly better after that. I have also a free version of InstaPoker, so I can say it will pay back itself very fast. But I am not sure is it that good for micro stakes since players in micro stakes are so illogical and, sorry, total idiots.

I have got very good results in 6 max cash games at the micro level by practicing with Advanced Poker Training and blackrain79's Crushing The Micro Stakes -product. But best training is always to just play.

Hello i am software developer and my hobby is poker. I was searching for such thing and could not get anything useful so i decided to build one myself. My idea is to build bots to play against on a python. Still in progress... will be available in 3 months. Will share to you if you interested. gl

This would be a fun project. I am a graphic designer and if you need any original art I would be more than happy to contribute to this. Let me know if I can help. Hell, why not even make a CC app? Hmm, Hmm.. :p

This can become fun project with cc members helping with skills or ideas for bots playing at different spots...
