I've been playing about 12,000 cash hands a month consistently for the last year if that's enough volume.

Hi, John! I see in your book you suggest to 3-bet poor hands like A8o, K6s, etc when BB against BTU steal. My question is how do we proceed when we hit a middle pair post flop. For example, A8o on J82. What size should we c-bet? If they call, do we just give up?

Like everything in poker, it depends. But in a toy game you'd be x/cing w/ A8 on a J82 flop most of the time (about 80/20). In general you're looking to play a medium size or under pot w/ those hands, so you need to have some action that has x/x in it.

Our CC study group is quiet at the moment.
I've had three trying weeks at work as well as moving house and divorce papers arriving. So a bit distracted at the moment. When i have logged on 50nl i've run into whales making boats with J6 and 94 in 3 bet pots and got stacked twice... Sigh.
My temp driveHud2 licence has expired and because I was testing it I need a reference number I don't have, in order to renew.

There's not much else you can do in this hand. I'd probably bet a bit larger on the flop w/ the fish in the pot. Other than that, the rest of the hand plays itself. NH.

For those who are using DH2, you'll want to check this out. It covers a good explanation of the new R&D section in Drivehud 2:

And if you're not, it's still a completely free trial until release.

If anyone is using Drivehud 2, and creates an R&D with it, I'll go over their data with them. Just export your R&D and post it, and I'll import it and talk about some data points you'll want to look at.

Again, DH2 is free right now, so it's a good opportunity to analyze some of your existing hand data in a unique way.

Completely standard preflop, given the dynamics of this long table. On the flop I like your call on this spot. Despite folding V2 we still have some values in our range that could be behind a closed open of UTG + 1 if we decide to raise here. So when we call our range seems wider and the opener can continue the aggression with all his hands.
On the turn I agree to raise here. Villain made a second barrel with a smaller bet than on the flop. This move has different interpretations, but the important thing is that the villain is showing defensive behavior given his turn bet. At this point, when we are raising we do it fundamentally with our blocking range. It includes hands like: ATs/o; KTs/o; A9s; K9s; TT; 99 and 9Ts. Because in this way we are denying equity to our V, when we represent values in our range.
On the river V's bet looks weak. It would seem that you are looking to get to a showdown in the cheapest way possible. Here when we push we have to target a specific range of V. We have to think that this player is capable of folding a hand like AK of spades; AJ of spades and 76 of spades when we represent 99; TT and 9Ts. Otherwise it is better to fold and look for a better place, since this V seems to have a less wide range.
Greetings.

Nice... I wish CC would post in original size so you can easily enlarge. Not sure why they don't do that. Just curious what you think you can conclude from a few of those spots you setup in R&D?

Smaller continuation bets work fine from EP MP CO and Button.
Bigger bets seem to work better from the blinds.

And something you probably suspected, but good to get confirmed, correct?

HAND DEVIATION

Anyone using DH2, you'll want to create some of these for post session reviews:

https://drivehud.com/aiovg_videos/hand-chart-deviation-report/

Hi John
Watched the video and followed faithfully creating a 9 max raise first in, as most of my volume is still full ring.

Went through each position in the hand selector with my standard opening ranges tagging the push/raise and saved and ran the chart against a 2 hour session of 600 or so hands.
It came back with 81 errors and on review it was faulting hands that were folded due to raises before the hand got to my postion.
For example the first hand flagged was A8os on the button, which of course is normally an open first in but a fold to any EP opens.

What am I doing wrong?
