yeah a fifth is 750ml
around here they call the 750's a "two-six" / actually not really sure why but never really was curious enough to try and figure out why either lol

two-six probably because its a 26oz bottle, call it a 26er down my way. As for the fifth, probably because i do beliefe a 26ox or 750ml is 1/5 of a micky (you know the big ol massive bottle of booze).

We do but travel is kind of a pain in the ass and it kind of takes forever (in comparison to just driving). I've ridden buses a fair bit and have had consistently bad experiences. Culminating in my last trip. Was supposed to be an 8-hour trip (1 hour layover, but it's only about 5.5 hours by car), and it ended up taking 15 hours. Was a bit of a fluke in many ways, but the fact that I wasn't even that surprised should tell you something.

I've not tried Amtrak or similar so I wouldn't know what to expect or even how to get to a station but I suppose it's worth looking into.

I wouldn't think twice about using rail to travel across the country and even Europe, I'd actually expect it to get better the further I got from the UK. I googled Amtrak and it said it runs 300 trains a day which is lol. I think I read somewhere that there are like 1 billion rail passengers in the uk every year.

America is a very strange place, I can't quite comprehend it.

If it helps anyone:

I spent 5 months in USA in 2000. and traveled the last month Salt Lake City -> San Francisco -> Denver -> Chicago -> New Orleans -> Florida -> Washington -> New York.

I used a monthly ticket for Amtrak and was very satisfied with quality of travel. Can't think of a reason it would change drastically but use Google to find recent customer reviews.

If anyone needs details send me a PM, I don't really remember checking chat threads regularly.
