Indeed so.
I just wanted to jump in and act like a monkey along with everyone else for a moment. Guilty!
To be honest I hope the cash/chat community here at CC can lift themselves out of this odd sort of mire that the chat thread has become.
I think the thread can be fun but at the same time provide a place to talk about poker concepts.
The fact of the matter is there are some very experienced players who lurk around here. And I imagine they find it kind of hard to want to go to the trouble to post serious insight when the general tone is so, well, stupid.
I don't mean to sound sanctimonious, as I am just a big goofball myself and don't really add much. But I would love to see the community thrive. CC has been unique in that the general tone of the forum has tended to be a little less "animated boob gif avatar" than other forums. But unfortunately the level of poker knowledge might be a little shy of the "animated boob gif" forum too.
The problem is we are giving the other forum a serious run for it's money in regards to the childish antics while LOWERING the bar on the poker side.
The resources are here. There are folks here who know how to play the game and some of them don't mind talking about poker too! Stu Unger is a great example. He loves to talk practical theory. Same with Chuck, WVH, Jagsti, Riley, and many others (don't be offended if I left you out of my insta-list).
But why would serious players want waste their time when for the most part they would be doing so in a situation where the signal to noise ratio is so incredibly bad.
