I am so tired of losing at $1/$3 nlhe. I've been playing 13 months, consistently at the local casino.

My two best upswings were $4,400 in 10 days (april 2023), and $4,500 in two weeks this past August. I lost all of the first run and more, and $3,500 of August's run.

I just feel like the unluckiest player in the world. I know that I can hold my own with the better regs in the room, but my results are extremely volatile compared to other players.

I need to take time off more than other players because the deck goes so cold on me for a really long time. I haven't seen QQ in 50 hours of play, and just got AA after 80 hours of play. I've gotten KK once in the last 65 hours of play.

Is this normal? It's absolutely crushing my spirit. Are things going to turn around? Is this normal? I'm so tired of everyone hitting their flush draws on me, when I've missed 95 of the last 100 draws that I were involved in, not chasing, receiving fair odds to call of course.

I'm working on my mental strength, telling myself that when it evens out, I will catch up. Is this a pipe dream?

Why does it seem like the regs in the room never get stacked?

I just don't get it?

Please, respond if you've shared similar thoughts, feeling and experiences.

What should I be focusing on to keep my wits, and continue to try to reach my goals in the game?

Thank you

It seems that you're forcing it & getting frustrated in the process? I tend to commit more mistakes with this state of mind. When you feel uptight, perhaps its time to stand up from the table, get some whiskey, sleep it off & try to relax before considering to play again. It could take a couple of days for some. I don't think about getting back the losses, its gambling anyway, it just makes me play scared. Just spend what you can afford to loose. Consider also playing lower stakes if you feel a downswing. Until you feel lucky again & have enough bankroll for higher stakes. Hope this would help.

The most important thing is to keep your bankroll and play enough, throw away negative thoughts, poker does not like it - relax - enjoy poker and do not chase money, it's not worth it

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling frustrated with your results in $1/$3 nlhe. It sounds like you've had some success in the past, but have also experienced some significant downswings.

It's important to remember that variance is a natural part of poker, and even skilled players can experience long periods of bad luck. While it can be discouraging to go through a rough patch, it's important to stay focused on making good decisions and playing your best game.

One thing you might want to consider is reviewing your hand histories to see if there are any areas where you can improve your play. Are there spots where you're consistently losing money? Are you making any mistakes that could be costing you chips?

It's also important to take care of your mental and emotional well-being. If you feel like you need a break from playing, take some time off to recharge. You might also consider seeking out resources like books, videos, or coaching to help improve your game.

Remember that poker is a long-term game, and success comes from making good decisions over time. Keep working on your skills and staying focused on your goals, and things will eventually turn around. Best of luck at the tables!

Also pro's go broke a few times in the pokercareer !!!

If you can handle the downswing and get back then you are good.

The same was with Bert Stevens, he was away a long time because off things, he got back, played and win the 5k wsop for 2,7 million $
