MG, Ive only been playing them whilst I get used to FT's software/players etc, as I havent really been on FT for a while. I only started this challenge 10 or so days ago, but feel confident in my game to move on from capped. I figure I'll play shallow tables now, 5nl and 10nl, cause you seem to get a lot of fish taking shots at them from the 2nl pool. I reckon a couple more weeks of note-making on players(the same ones keep turning up) and colour coding them whether fish/ok or shark, and then I'll jump into the 100bb games, at both 5nl and 10nl. Once I hit $550(if I do lol) I'll shot-take at 25nl and see what happens.

Seems fair, good luck, Do you have any plans for edge rewards goals? like getting platinum etc? Cause I mean, once you put in a fair bit of volume, that little deposit helps a great deal.

yeah Im bronze at the moment, and would like to move up, but that depends on my job. I currently work evenings so get to play after work and all day, but they're looking at moving me to morning work, so would have to see how that affects my poker time.

Yea, anytime your work can change like that its hard to set a firm schedule.

Played 700 hands at 10nl cap 4 table just now, was confident and didnt play with scared money. Noticed I tightened up, playing something like a 15/12 style instead of my usual 24/18. Noted lots of fish for future reference, ie guys shoving PF for $3 with A8os etc. Lost with KK against QJos, and a set over set, but at the end of the session only down $3.83 so not too bad considering. Will take a break now and play another session later. Oh, and a nice way to rack up the points towards my bonus clearance.

How many hands do you get in per session KD? You could also start taking shots at 25cap as well, it really wont change much tbh. Obv do so when your comfortable but yea, its not going to be too difficult to make money.

Also, I assume your playing 6 max right?

anything between 500 and a 1000 hands in a session, sometimes twice a day. Next level after 10nl is 20nl, but there doesnt seem to be that many tables at that level, so 25nl might be the next leap. Just checked out the 25nl tables, shallow is $10 buy-in, and cap is set at $7.50, so both well in my range, might try them out.
Yeah I play exclusively 6max. Tried 9 max for a long time, but just seem to prefer 6max for some reason, hand ranges dont have to be that huge to open a pot.

urgh, bad session at 4table 10nl. 350 hands and down $15. looked through my hand history, and looks like I didnt do anything wrong, or amything wronger(?) than usual, the usual set over 2 pair, and a couple of AKs against big pairs that didnt hit. Bit of a dent to my confidence, but my BR is still looking healthy, got enough for another $30 worth of shots at 10nl before dropping down.

congrats on that, as little as you may think that is, it will provide your BR with a significant boost. 10% RB is a start, and i trust if you keep grinding like that, you will make gold in no time.

Got a question, how do you find the competition on Full Tilt?

ATM I'm seriously considering hopping over there as I can grab a nice deposit bonus and feel like a fresh start (been getting futtbucked on Stars right now). That and the fact that over here on Stars the 10nl and 25nl games are super nitty whereas looking at the lobby stats on FT there seems to be more action, so what do you think, should I come over and donate to you?

depends what stakes you're going for. Ive been colour-coding 2nl and 5nl players, and they are starting to show up at 10nl, complete fishes, someone shoved PF for $3 with A8os, ffs. Ive had a stars account for years, but I just dont like playing ring there, they seem too tight(the players) whereas at FT there's always one juicy fish playing 60/12 or something. And the colour coding really works, I use green for fish, I was sat at a 5nl table the other day with 5 green players lol.
Come try it out, Im the same, Ive got a juicy bonus running there, I wont earn it all, but every $10 helps. gl bud.

another $10 4-table session, went ok, but just wasnt getting the hands. had to resort to stealing blinds etc. Down $2.35, so ok with that. But I cleared another $10 of my bonus, might hit another $10 before it ends in 4 days time. bankroll is looking ok at $285, so have got $35 for shots at 10nl before I have to move down. fingers crossed I dont.

Just moved over to FT to clear the reload bonus, didnt clear much of my deal me in bonus when it re-opened so hoping to clear more this time.

Gonna be playing 3 tables of rush 6m though, 5nl to start so prob wont bump into you

Just a thought, did the guy shoving A8o for 30bb do it from the blinds vs a steal or something? With a small stack size and vs villain who steals a lot its maybe not that bad, i'd be careful tagging people as fish based solely on their holdings at cap/shallow tables, often it prob doesnt matter what your holding in steal/resteal spots as its all about the math, then again he might have open shoved from utg, and then he is a fish

yeah Ive only cleared $20 of my reload bonus, but it's all BR.
I keep thinking about rush, but Ive been burned in the past, so not sure I wanna play it again.
I cant remember the exact details, but Im pretty sure the guy with A8o got into a raising war with another guy, 3bet/4bet etc.
As for the tagging, I cvolour code them for fish/average/shark, and then I write a note at what level, ie 5nl cap/10nl shallow etc. It works most if not all of the time, once a fish, always a fish!

Made a deposit on FT but not played yet. I checked out the FR tables and there seems to be 4 or 5 seats with the same players playing 12+ tables. Are there just as many regs at the 6 max tables?

I might need to get some 6 max skills soon.

er, not too sure, whenever I click on a player(note-making, etc) and hit find player, they're usually only playing one table. I used to play 9max, but much prefer 6max, more action and its quicker.

urrgh, worst day of poker Ive had. dropped $40 in total. played 5nl and 10nl, was down $15 purely to suckouts, then foolishly went to 5nl rush and dropped another $25. Couldnt hit a thing, and each time I had KK(3 times) I got big action from, of course, AA. each f**king time ffs. sick day. still up $32 since I started this thread, but my confidence is rock-bottom. going to the pub.
