What're his bet/fold and bet/gii ranges then (addressed to anyone who feels like answering)?

Edit: For 66 or KQ hand, tbh.

66 im not sure what kind of range we get to river with which is the hard part, depending on what else you get there with i see merits on all 3

AK i mean i want to 3bet pre, but whats our 3betting range, given he is probably good having only a flatting range with the folds behind is probably good. flop i play the same, turn I'm pretty lost on.

KQ i really like turn shove, basically never beat and we force him to fold out his equity and he is probably bluffing an amount to make us indifferent on the river.

b/c is prob like Q7/QT/ he basically can't have sets, and everything else is a draw/bluff/worse hand. i guess we kinda free roll the times he heroes with worse like QJ or the times he has a strong draw that calls or a draw that beats other draws Axdd or whatever

b/f is a shit ton of air, most Qx most Tx lots of draws like J9 KJ 98 xxdd etc

Results:

66 hand: I called, he had the other 66.

AK hand: I raised to 950 he made it 2000 I quickly fold he says "nice try" and flips over 88 for turned boat. That makes me like my play even more though since I highly doubt he's peeling 99+ hands. Not sure whether he bets that size with them or not but meh.

KQ hand: I shove he call T7s I have to believe his flop play is horrendous (also pre) but he got me to stick in over 200bb when behind on the turn so who knows.

Haven't updated this thread in awhile, here we go:

I was on espn that was pretty cool, even if it was all Norman Chad and w/e the other guy's name is making fun of me and absolutely no poker making it on (other than me folding AJo to an utg open and an Ivey 3bet) at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OarO8FjoH0

On the life front though things are going great. I got a job a few weeks ago at Fannie Mae on the modeling and analytics team working on fraud stuff. Basically it means I'm using programming with vast amounts of data to try to detect fraud as well as model patterns to better predict when fraud is more likely to happen in the future. I'm still pretty much doing training stuff but I'm really enjoying it so far and it pays pretty well. So I've sort of been focusing on that and was pretty much busy every weekend as well as a few weekdays with frisbee tournaments/practices so I've played basically no poker at all since I started that.

I'm looking into getting money on bovada, as that seems like a much better idea for nights after work than driving 20 minutes each way plus sitting on the waitlist for a bit when my session will only be a few hours. I figure I can play online during the week and play live if I have free time on the weekend. We'll see how that goes I'm still kinda shopping around for deals on bovada right now so if you know of anyone who's giving decent rb lemme know .

My dad also has a co-worker who had season tickets for the Nationals so we're able to buy playoff tickets I'm going to game 2 Saturday as well as game 5 if it happens Thursday, and will definitely be going to games in the NLCS and World Series if they make it as well, so that's pretty cool. I went to game 5 last year and the atmosphere was just amazing far better than any regular season game I've ever been to pretty much entire crowd standing the entire game and just everyone super into it I had an awesome time so hopefully this year will be similar only the Nats can go deep.

Anyway not quite the direction I expected this thread to go given at the start of the year I was going for sne, but I couldn't be happier with the direction my life is going right now. I'd have to be a complete moron to spend more than I make working so I should be able to take more shots at poker, plus downswings hopefully won't sting quite as much with the money coming in on the side covering expenses and then some. We'll see if I feel this way after I've been working for awhile but my life's pretty great. Hopefully I'll start playing some more poker and will definitely post interesting hands in this thread (if I ever get money on bovada I also promise to post a video of me playing there).

Yeah, saw that last night Zach, cool stuff. I thought based on a couple of your hands they were sure to be aired.

I'm thinking about moving some action onto Bovada myself, miss those rush tables

Played live for the first time since I started work the other day. Played some 5/10, Was actually thinking about playing some 10/25 but after this hand I figured better get back used to playing poker again at 5/10:

Hero is SB with A4dd

MP limps, button limps, hero completes, bb checks

(pot=$40) flop=Q32r (1 diamond)
Hero bets 30, bb calls, other 2 fold

(pot=$100) turn=Q32(Q) completing rainbow
hero checks, bb checks

(pot=$100 river=Q32Q(5)
Hero bets $175, BB raises to $675, hero calls.

I thought the only hand I lost to was 64. Villain flips over Q2 and I think wow sick bluff attempt and start to reach for my call back until I realize he has a boat and how dumb I am. I still think my overbet is ok but calling that river raise is just lighting $500 on fire. But I ran hot rest of the session not too many interesting hands just me flopping the nuts and getting paid ended up +2kish my first session back even with that blunder :)

Lol. You mentioned this hand in the chat group already but just damn that sucks. I've never misread quite that badly I don't think. But I might be bad enough to call even reading the board and everything correctly :)

Really well. Variance free income is nice and I really like what I'm doing. Work's been kinda hectic lately but it's because we just had a few people leave for other jobs and I was just promoted to fill one of them so job security really isn't an issue they'd be kinda ****ed if I left.

Been playing a few hours/day after work though hoping to get back to at least 200nl. I don't spend a ton of money so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to get back to where I'm making enough from poker to cover my expenses and just banking my salary which would be pretty sweet.

Downtown? We have an office in Arlington and I can't stand the drive when I have to go in there. Are you commuting in from MD?

It's in Tenleytown and I'm commuting from Columbia it's kind of a bad drive like an hour 15 minutes each way but I'm getting absurdly good rent and I'll be moving closer when my lease is up here in a few more months.

1:15 actually seems pretty good for that drive. I guess like anything else it would depend on the day and, of course, the time you're driving it. You playing live at all?

Occasionally, but don't have a ton of time for it usually weekends I'm busy and weekdays I don't really want to drive to and from the casino to play a short live session much rather play online.

So I'm still not sure exactly how to copy hands from bovada should probably invest in a converter can someone link to where I can get one? If I recorded my next session would people watch? It'd be 4-table 100nl bovada and I probably wouldn't want to commentate it.
