I've played play chips for a few years, and made the final table at 2 of 5 local tournys (50 to 70 people MTT's) so I decided to plop down some cash and play online..
The first 15 min can only be described as a brutal beating, but I learned some things: (1) people play draws and bet far more than odds dictate (2) bluffing is near impossible as some people get married to the pot fast (3) the hands these people play boggle the mind.
I ended up making back the $12 I lost plus about $12 more once I tightened up my game.
It was one of the micro tables I was playing.
My question is what sort of hands do people play and is it normal to fold fold fold ......... fold for an hour waiting for the premium hands. I'm trying to learn and stick to playing the long term odds and it seems to me that patience is the key.
