? I didn't even play this hand? haha. If OP jammed the turn then yes he played it right. But if he called the ALL-IN on the river that was a bad call or a bad ALL-IN.

What??

Sounds like a dream come true guy, however it may be better to fold next time. Sure you had him crushed but after the turn he had a few outs and it was just to much money for you to fold after your 3/4 bet In general you did nothing wrong you bet correctly mostly and would win that flip more than you would lose so that's a correct poker play. If it were me I may have checked the flop vs such a player even they want free cards and wont bluff at smallish pots. Then on the turn bet just marginally he would call and hit the river with a bet big and at least you can make a better fold to the best hand/bluff for only a little loss vs these player types. Against these guys your looking for a good set vs his hand. Say it went 4-7-8 you can bet out the 3/4 of the pot with a set of 88 and he may shove which would be drawing hopeless a much better situation overall.:jd4:

To make money you need to be patient and grind, grind, grind. Small mistakes will make you lose a lot money.

I think that you forced your luck with a bet so high in that small table blind. There was no reason to gamble with the man since you knew his a kamikaze. Next time wait have faith then when you have the nuts after a flop you can win. Btw he had a t least 8 outs 9 if you had a diffrent Q that like 16 -18 % chance to win. you can win 8 out of 10 hands with that.

I don't think he forced anything. He did great by taking his chance in this spot. Even against a "kamikaze", its hard to find a better spot to get it all in.

Just chalk it up to variance and move on. Painful for a pot of that size though.

One of things that I have learned is that "fish" at low limits, can bite, and they are getting better. The problem is that most people that play higher limits, and play "down" to the 1/2 don't take into consideration the wider variance that the player will play.

Your pre-flop strategy at 2-5 can be thrown out the window at 1-2. Players at 1-2 are gamblers more than poker players. They love to see their 10-6 suited flop out with any kind of draw, or even a pair, even when you raise 5x the BB with your pocket JJs.

Typically you want to make the most amount of money you can when you have the hand. When you have the nuts, you do exactly as you are told, bet into checks, value bet etc.

It's true the longer a hand goes on, the better player has the edge. That edge means nothing when X player regardless of pot/implied odds keeps betting because they are gambling on making their hand, not trying to win the pot if they miss.

All it proves is that some folks are lucky at cards and some folks aren't. You see all kinds of crazy play in tournaments too that makes no sense and yet people continue to do it and 'some' people continue to get lucky doing it. The only difference is that in a cash game you lose the large amount of cash that you've earned by playing strong poker over the past few hours. In a tournament you just lose the few hours that you've invested and of course your buy-in.

I'm not one of those people. Occasionally I'll try to play stupid-loose and always fall flat on my face when I do it. And yet I watch certain players do the same stupid-loose things hand after hand, game after game and consistently win.

I find this true at the smaller tables at online poker too. A lot of players just play overly aggressive and often just get away with it. so either your cards are good and you win a bit or he gets some bs hand and takes a lot from you.
