I've been working from home the last 2 weeks, cooking a lot more, and just leaving the apartment to get groceries+beer, does that count?

Anyone playing on private clubs during quarantine? I'm pretty happy on StarsPA but can't hurt to reach out about other sites. I've heard solid stuff about pokerbros but have no idea.

I've seen way too many scams on those sites, the rake is awful, and I've heard plenty of stories about collusion. I was staked to play on one of the chinese App sites, at one point when I was up I asked about cashing out and he said if I did that I'd have to deposit my own money I was like meh I'll wait a bit, lost it, and then had someone else tell me about how he took their money and ran, so I quit playing. I've heard so many stories that are similar with the notable detail that they deposited their own money rather than playing staked that it's absurd, and the games weren't even that soft (think global but with more bad nits instead of bad loose/passives. No one good, but not any more whales than any other site, and absurd rake).

Maybe pokerbros is better, but it seems like the same setup to me: affiliates who are clearly getting paid a ton to shill the site, promises of tons of whales, and it being secret and hidden to regs even though everyone in the poker world has heard of them.

If your agent is trustworthy and the site has decent rep & updates then there are no problems whatsoever

Sup duggs

Not too bad. I'm still going into office 3 days/week but its just me, so no staff or anything. Been weird being at home so much. Having a baby at home throws in another layer to the difficulty. Managing to get some grinding done though so not all bad.

You grinding at all? Maybe some 1500 bb deep hands where we have to fold the second nuts because half our roll is on table?

See if a club was legit, I'd think about it. StarsPA is great, but I'm only getting about 12% RB at the moment bc I've capped out. They limit winning players big time. I would be open to mixing in some soft sites with good rb structure, but would need an agent I trust. I guess thats the problem right there lol. Someone from CC should become an agent and rep the CC guys on pokerbros.

Disclaimer: I get 10% of any profits for this idea. You have to give it to me, no exceptions, send in btc. I'm a lawyer so this 100% legal, no questions asked.

Yeah but every club was legit until it wasn't. I don't know exactly how it works, but even if you were the agent, how can you trust the money's being kept and sent out upstream? idk I'm just overly cautious about this shit, remember back when FTP was considered legit? And after BF it's been site after site scamming people and everyone saying they're legit with fast cashouts, until they're not...

That is true. StarsPA is legit like 2006 partypoker levels of softness right now so I'm fine. Just always looking for more games since I assume these games are going to dry up once quarantine is over.

I wish more ppl I knew were playing as I need someone to review other regs with. If anyone happens to be see this post and be playing 100/200nl starspa, hit me up. I give this a 1% chance of success since this thread is pretty much just me and zach going back and forth now sadly

Bump. I play some club games but mostly just for the hilariously soft tourneys. I sometimes play smaller grey sites for cash games but only ones I have connections with and I don't keep a lot of money locked up with any (usual drill for USA players).

I'm also grinding MTT's on ACR but I'd never dream of playing cash on there at reasonable stakes.

Bump.

Didn't expect to come back to babies and weddings that's for sure. Seems like people are really moving on with their lives. Glad to see it....so does anyone actually play poker anymore?

See you all in another 5 years.

Yo, whatsup man? Long time no talk. I know me and Zac keep semi active threads, but other than that, none of the old guard is still grinding sadly.

Everything is good for me man - got myself into a career path that has always interested me and lovin' it so far! Nothing poker-related going on, but being bored during lockdown got me thinking about the good old days so I decided to pop back and see what's up.

And I learned how to cook. Turns out you can buy cooking lessons with moderately expensive cognac when you have an alcoholic uncle. Definitely + EV.

Congrats on the baby boy!

lol. I been playing a bit on global and updating here: https://www.cardschat.com/forum/pok...ns-46/washed-up-zach-gives-it-another-449619/

Been running hot lately, we'll see if it keeps up.

Will Check it out. Congratulations on getting engaged!

Mind saying what the career is? I always find it interesting to see what poker players do after they leave. If it's secret you can tell me to **** off no worries :)

Thanks man. Unfortunately had to postpone the big wedding until 2021 but we're still going to do a small ceremony with just family next month assuming we're able to.

MTT life is the MTT life. My tracked site results have been bad over small (read: meaningless) sample but I'm actually up when you include pee bros and smaller untracked sites.

I'm still very much in the thick of things, arguably more so since coronavirus. I haven't been laid off per se but there's just no work for me to really do right now with School of Cards for the most part. So I'm grinding like 30-40 hours/week at a mix of MTT's and cash. Probably like 80-85% MTT's at this point.

So I've played like 350 in the last 40-50 days. It's felt good. Feels like I'm finally getting into the swing of things with respect to my mental game and handling the MTT bullshit. So that's cool.

FINALLY broke my no-win streak and took down a baby $33 x 20k GTD on ACR for 4k... and it about got me even for the week lol.

EDIT: Oh and yeah I have a cool kids thread too... https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-games-11/live-online-grind-don-t-in-439477/

P.S. I just haven't updated it in ages

I don't Mind divulging.

I worked with troubled youths for a while - which I found very fulfilling - and considered going into teaching. However, under the absolute strangest of circumstances (and I mean about as strange as it can possibly get) I found out that there may be some hope for me to join the Armed Forces, despite an initially failed attempt years earlier to join the Army (for medical reasons). Anyway, I was up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep so I put an application in to the Royal Navy and said to myself if I'm ever going to do it, it'll need to be now. And the rest as they say, is history.

I'm only at the foot-in-the-door stage of my career so far, but almost everything is better than I expected and I'm in a very promising position. I'll be moving city for work and given the relative closeness of casinos there, I've been thinking I might be able to actually do some playing again. If I can remember anything that is. What is a Cbet again?

Well, it's been 10 years since I last paid, judging from my post history. Jesus, what *happened* to the micros? You used to be able to go to the NL2 tables and just crush all day playing ABC poker. Wait for good cards and let the donks throw money at you.

I'll grant I was never great and I'm probably not at my best, but I don't recall the micros being a wall of 21 vpip grinders. I guess the loss of US players and the TV boom dried up the pond.

After going through an annoying amount of trouble trying to get some bitcoin (my driver's license is expired, so most of the easy routes were no-go) for ACR, I've managed to donk my way to -6 buy-ins through ~7k hands.

I'm 50/50 whether I wanna take the time to git gud again and plug my leaks or just forget about it.
