Not sure your definition of bluffing but I find it hard to believe you could consistently win ever without bluffing at any game - Based on position, representing different hands on the board is vital to winning.

If you have a good read on your opponents and you can decipher betting patterns etc I am not prone from calling along till the board gets scary for the villain, making a play especially if he's a nit. I like to show a bluff in a big pot and the next time around ill play it the same way but have the nuts.

Bluffing is absolutely 100% necessary in cash games.

The more important question is 'how often should bluff?'.

The starting point is generally accepted as follows:
Flop: 2:1(bluff:valuebet ratio)
Turn: 1:1
River: 1:2

You should veer away from these ratio based on how stationy or nitty a particular opponent is playing.

Playing with a lantern is risky, being able to do it with a project increases your success, doing it with few players making the call is profitable

Bluffing in cash games IS Essential i cannot stress that point enough. You have to play unpredictable or your opponents will easily figure your game out within 20 or so hands played. Now with that being said I would advise against bluffing every hand and find a happy medium in between your game and bluffing when neccessary. Play unpredictable at cash games and you will rake in the dough like a pizza factory.

Yes it is possible to play cash games without bluffing but you'll find your cash getting less and less, sometimes you forced to bluff to actually stay in the game. Bluff very carefully if you haven't bluffed before.

Bluffing is a good opportunity to take the pot when you do not have a very good card.

Bluffing is a good opportunity to take the pot when you do not have a very good card. Bluffing is not necessary, it's just an option, how you can play your hand. To make your bluff successful, you must make your opponent believe in your hand with your previous actions. When you bluff, you have to portray your hand in such a way that it really does have you. You need to bluff confidently, then everyone will believe that you have a really good hand.

Define "bluffing".

If you are just blindly blasting away, with no equity when called (like very low chance you improve), then you are probably punting off chips left and right.

The game is so dynamic, and complex, there are so many variables, we need to be able to figure out what to do on the fly.

If we have equity though, semi bluffing, at least if we are called, we have cards that can make powerful hands in the deck. This makes you harder to play against, because your opponent will not be able to tell if you have a draw, or a made hand. Balanced.

But still, the choice when and where to bluff, not bluff, should be based on a bunch of different factors. Who are you trying to bluff. Stack sizes. How many players in the pot. Your image. Your hand. What you think they have.

With practice and hard work, you will be able to decide the best course of action in real time, based on game dynamics.
