vanq is in a state of perpetual winning.

And Marg, I was assuming you go to a big school with a big rep and land a management job at a big firm, the Uni you go to makes a massive massive difference. Also, it's just set-up for an MBA 3 years or so out of Uni. I know a business degree specifically isn't a pre-requisite for an MBA but I'm sure it helps.

Just read your link and it's pretty eye opening. I always knew Engineering was the top degree and Economics was better than Business but didn't know Business performed so poorly.

Played a PCA sat with some spare FPP's (lol tournament) and I didn't know it actually meant you had to play a specific tournament and couldn't unregister. I thought you'd get a ticket you couldn't trade for FPP's, that's retarded.

Thats on PS right? When did PS stop caring about shit like that? Like they have always used the ticket system, why all of a sudden you have to play a specific tourney?

the link is on about general business degrees, im not sure how common they are over there but here they are usually business + a specialist field so you learn stuff more specific (HR, Accounting, a language, economics, law)

I do business with accounting + finance, so i do shit boring 3 business modules but then an investment, financial planning and a final project on whatever I want within accounting + finance

It seems to be part of the 10year celebration stuff, they just want to hit massive money in the main MTT's.

It's ****ing retardo, I missed it too.

Final thoughts on the degree thing, a broad business degree isn't particularly useful, at least not as much as real world experience. A more specific focus can be very valuable, especially if it's in a more mathematical area.

Only about 200 or so played, but ROI of 15% at the $1.50's going to be on the 3's by next week imo. Pulling my usual stunt and starting at the beginning when i do something like this, nice break from cash games for a while though.

Is it just me or is the VIP store at PS have a lot less stuff in it than in the past, specifically electronics? How long ago did that happen?

Yey, have a cast on my hand from fracturing a few bones snowboarding on Monday! Happened on my first run down a slope for 3 years, got a bit too confident at the bottom and hit a nice big patch of ice, carried on for another 3 hrs snowboarding, had some lunch at frankie n bennys and then drove home after. Only went to hospital on the tuesday morning once it had swollen up nicely lol

Now im stuck with it for the next 4 weeks :( annoying me already, gonna change some hotkeys in TN to compensate for my decreased mouse skills i think lol

My younger brother got hisself a Business Admin. Degree from Colorado State Uni.
For the last 3 years he has been living in the mountains leading rich kids/ 'business' execs. on 1-4 week wilderness excursions throughout the Western USA, for an outrigger (outward bound). . . .ho hum.. . .do what u love i, often times the money will follow.

My first uni. degree was Landscape Design & Architecture; worked full time as a landscape "grunt" laborer, 40+hrs./week; eventually become a foreman, then Landscape designer, than Landscape Manager. . .Now i own my own plant nursery. . . just work for it, a degree is a degree, but u gotta market urself. . .imo.

With the current trend of college graduates, if your not a teacher/engineer, grad school/law school or some kind of higher education is a must imo (for americans) if you want to have a successful career in your field of study

I think student expectations of their first job after graduation is out of line with today's reality.

In the past higher education distinguished you from the rest of the field and the fact that you had spent several years acquiring this education was rewarded by effectively giving graduates a few years of unearned seniority.

These days the guy who makes the tea for the guy who makes the coffee has a degree and therefore starting salaries are generally far lower than expected.

Generally speaking a graduate dosent really benefit in terms of total earning until about 15 years of work. This is taking into account the loss of earnings during study, debts incurred whilst studying and the fact that had this person (who is now doing something really high powered) would be unlikely to be working a minimum wage job had they not embarked in higher education.
