Do we have any videos on here at CC about setting up a HUD in HEM? i never use a HUD and when i deposit enough money this summer to play 25NL i want to use a HUD for sure but wondering how to set up a good one and what stats to display and whatnot.

TPC did a really detailed HEM setup and HUD video. As far as what stats to include I'm a fan of starting with minimal stats and then adding others as you find you need/want them. This let's you personalize your HUD and gets you used to using a particular stat slowly instead of throwing 15 stats on a HUD and trying to figure everything out all at once.

+1

Just yesterday I decided that it was time for me to add some more stats. I added in the fold sb to steal and fold bb to steal. Previously I just had pfr/vpip/agr/3bet/f23bet/
cbet/f2cbet/steal/hands.

I think the stats I had were very good and not very overwhelming. I might be missing a few key things, but it has worked fairly well for me.

Yessir, that's about right.

See, adding "fold-to-4bet" and not actually having figured out what you want to do versus someone who folds often versus someone who folds rarely (assuming you even know what typical values for that stat is) won't help you much. In fact, it'll probably make you worse off than not knowing at all.

I have a decent chunk of stats up nowadays, but I do use them all (some more than others, obviously) and I've actually spent a decent amount of time on each of the separate stats figuring out how to play versus a "normal" value, a high value and a low value - after looking around and seeing what typical values are. Some of the stats actually require separate reads in order to be useful; knowing how often someone triple barrels or bets the river in general is only something I can lean on once I know if he's capable of valuebetting a hand like KJ on a 6-3-3-Q-J river, or if his river range is polarized.

Eh, anyway. What WV said.

What would be a good flatting range oop versus someone who 4bets light? I see quite a few regs who do that and it leaves me wondering.

What do they do on the flop? Check or donk?

Unless I'm playing deep and/or up against a really bad player, there are only six combos I'd even consider flatting a 4bet with.

Hrm. Have you seen any showdowns? It's possible that there's some super-cool trick with QJs or whatever that I haven't thought about, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that would be. Then again, just because some regs do it doesn't necessarily mean that it's good; it might just be that they've watched some coaching video where Krantz flatted a 4bet OOP with JTs and they didn't notice that he was super-deep or had some other amazing read so now they just go ahead and flat it always. Who knows.

I saw KJ who flopped a straight while I flopped a set of queens. KQ who flopped 2 pairs against my aces. And I've been check-raised out of a couple of pots when I've tried to cbet my air.

I can't really make sense of that, other than taking a note on them and add a few more 4bets for value (e.g. JJ), 4-bet a bit bigger versus these players with your entire range while also reducing your bluffing frequency, and finally to often check back AK on the flop when you've missed (unless the SPR makes it worthwhile to shove as a cbet). If you feel the need to balance you can check back/shove AA a couple of times, too.

Btw, if it does seem to be specifically KQ and KJ, it's a pretty good bet that there's a training site video that's come out recently that's said something about that. It has to be conditional though, I can't imagine it being profitable per default. Or I'm missing something.

Are your HH's being moved to another folder? Is that folder one of your auto import folders?

Can't imagine what that would have to do w the HUD, though... gl!

Yea, make sure to have HEM archive your hands in another folder and make sure that folder isn't included in the scanning range. That way you won't lose your hands in case you need them for backup, but also you won't have to worry about them being scanned every time you start scanning.

It has to be a new video out somewhere. I've never seen it before, and then this hand happened today:

I've decided that for the rest of the month, I'll play a single table of rush 6max, taking all the time needed to ponder decisions and pausing the game after each tricky spots to take notes and think about those more.

I think that should be +EV long term.

Belgo, do you use FT for your note taking or HEM? Gotta be pretty quick with catching the person's notes on Rush before they're gone if you're using Tilt's
