Because I tend to be agressive (cash games) I rather play 6 max, I feel in control during my session. In 9 max ,there is a chance when I am facing a reraise someone must likely wakes up with a monster

Much prefer 9 seater my self. 6 seaters i always get the feeling that I am rushing. Or playing the person rather than the cards.. In 9 seater i can just bide my time and choose my hand more

I prefer 6-max game. The reason is simple. 9-max game is too boring. As you know, in 9-max the value of the most of pocket cards goes down. That means you should wait more to get some good cards. So most of the time you should fold. In average you should fold 1/9 game because it's 9-max. Actually I think 5-max is proper.

I don't mind 9-max or 6-max. I like both options. Each of them has advantages.

6-max to make money. Full ring (9 or 10) for the big tournaments.

Then after I lose at the tournaments I go back to 6-max to make more money to pay for more tournaments.

Both options are good for me. I play when like 9 and 6. But in many cases I play for 9 players.

I prefer 6 just because you're involved in the action more. I'm here to have fun, and folding hand after hand on a 9 max table isn't all that much fun!

For me, I prefer full ring games if I'm not feeling up to the pace of 6max play. I can play a little tighter, choose my spots easier and play more "relaxed." That's usually more for tournaments though. In cash games, I love 6max. You get to play more of your range, aggression is rewarded and loose fish are profitable as all get out. Sometimes it sucks to go a few orbits folding hands, but the occasional steals and playing good cards in position is usually enough to get the job done. You definitely see a lot more hands, and as a result, have a lot more opportunities to profit.

Poker can be a boring Game when you keep folding hand after hand, Some times it feels like there must be 30 Deuces in some decks I play,
But when I am folding a lot I watch the flop to see whether I made the right decision in folding and in most case's I have made the right choice.
In a Live game I was dealt K,J, club suited and really wanted to play them on the BB and facing a raise and re-raise from other players, I reluctantly folded the BB.
Flop, Turn and River bricked for me so If I had called would have certainly gone out.
The very next hand I was dealt Pocket 9s on the small blind and facing 3 players going all-in I called and made trips to quad up and finished on the final table and in the money.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

I think there is a lot of variety, but I think 9 max is the best, because if you are playing tight there are fewer chances of getting bad bets like 6 max than any other player plays whatever hand.

Do you prefer 9-max NL or 6-max and why?

I used to always be partial to 9-max because that's what I cut my teeth on in live games and home games when I started playing 23 years ago. But over the last couple of years, I have really enjoyed the 6-max tables as well. I like the faster paced action and to me it feels a little more like poker was meant to be. When you see poker in the old westerns, you don't see 9 or 10 cowboys around a poker table. You'd see 4-6 players around a table in the saloon, and as silly as it might seem, I just feel like that's the way poker was meant to be. I still will play a full ring game when I go out to the casinos, but I just really think 6-max is a much purer form of the game.

So if given the choice, are you going 9-max or 6-max online?

Good day! :)
I also like 6-max tables (cash and tournaments) lately.
Cash - because I play 6-max zoom, I initially started playing this format, it is more familiar to me. It has more action.:cool::cool:
Tournaments - 6-max hyper-turbo (although this is of course a lottery :D), but it does not get tired, like long dips for 8-12 hours (although they are still my priority :))

For me, it varies dependant on the variant. If I'm playing zoom cash then it's definitely 6max that I'll always play. If it's non-zoom cash then I play 9max around 70% of the time and 6max for the remaining 30%.

When it comes to tournaments it depends on the speed. Hypers are definitely 6max, which is handy as most of them are anyway. I also generally prefer 6max for turbos but don't mind either. If it's a regular speed tournament then I'll prefer 9max

I prefer longhand because you can hold back, wait for good cards and hardly deviate from the standard way of playing. There is more of a predefined way to play. In shorthand you cannot play wait and see. You have to take action yourself. You have to play with worse hands. It's more dynamic. You have to change your playing style so that your opponent cannot easily see through you. You have to be able to assess your opponents better. It demands a lot more from you than longhand. You need more experience to master it. But it can be more fun as it is more action packed. I would start with longhand and try shorthand sometime later.

6 max more fun I think for action. 9 max slower, you gotta play more cautiously.

6 max definitely

I prefer playing short handed(6 people per table). I like the speed of 6 handed and the fact that I only face 5 opponents!! Obviously it increases action and speed of the game. My opinion.

Stay Safe
