Are men superior to women in poker?

It's rare to find woman in the top list of the best poker player in the world! Not even one female got any bracelet in her life! So, what is the secret behind that?
It's even very rare to find a woman in the final table of big events!
Maybe the woman is too much brittle, and doesn’t have the nerves for withstanding the poker pressure.
I notice that women are not good in bluffing, and easy to bluff. Maybe this is one of the reasons.

When the girls start reading it you might hear from a few of them.
The reason there are so few female finalists at poker is simple.
odds, there is so few female participants compared to male that the odds are a female will not
be at the final table and will not win a largely male dominated field of players.
It's definitely NOT because men are "better".
Reverse it, put 10 men among 1000 woman and I bet those ten men do not make the final table or win.

I think it is because less women play in relation to the number of men. and men are more likely to go far. but friend remember the wcoop that won an Argentine not long ago. and I gain being disadvantaged in relation to the quantity of men. in short, not many women are seen as men. Poor Talvrz do not arrive. Do not underestimate them.

great your answer. It's what I meant but you said it perfect.

Sexist little so and so ... why is there more males at final tables? well that might have something to do with the fact that poker tournaments/casinos or online sites are populated with over 86% male customers/players.

Women can, but do not want to do it ...

if your theory is correct is still requires 14% of winners should be female? and 14% of all finalist should be female!

in reality men and female are not equaly good at everything! some areas female excel and some areas men excel which ones and in how big a degree i dont know.

just in these days it is not political correct to say that there exists any difference eventhough there are clear physical differences!

Sure there are situations where males perform better and females perform better but saying males are better at poker is ridiculous. Where is the physical advantage gained in poker? The fact is It's simply a matter of numbers. Women can't fight neither right? yet two of the UFC's biggest ever stars are female.

Yes, I agree with this reply Dramatically fewer women play poker than men as of now. I think there’s a lot of potential for that to change in the future though!

Also OP, there are quite a few women with bracelets in open wsop events and many very successful female poker pros. If you honestly believe that women are just worse players, then you’re opening yourself up to underestimating every single woman that you play against. As a woman in poker, I assure you that’s an attitude we’re adept at identifying and profiting from on the felt

So true. Because these cave men can see my profile pic I honestly feel I get bluffed way more than I would if I hid my sex, but do you know what? It works in our favour so lets encourage these views on us

I played in a tournament of all men around 100 players. The only female in the bunch. Guess what??? I won. But you are allowed to have an opinion, even if it's not right. LOL.

please read and understand - i am not saying men are better than woman at poker! - i am saying 1) your theory that woman dont win tournaments or reach the final table IS DUE to more men playing poker and you refer to that more than 86% of all poker players are men - but your argument is actually supporting the theory that men are better than woman since there is less than 14% of winners and final tables finalists that are female!
so using your argument you actually supporting the theory - i am not saying anything about the theory!

2) i just mentioned the physical element as an example on that difference is not allowed on the political correctness path between men and woman since it is obvious for anyone in their right minds that there is a physical difference - but still in any school they teach there is no physical difference on an overall basis!

i am not saying anything about the theory that the is a difference between men and womans skills to play poker - only that looking at numbers there is a statisticsl favour of men playing poker to excel compared to woman playing poker!

This is ridiculous. The only reason that women don't win many bracelets is because the ratio of women playing is so small. It's not because they have inferior intelligence. Vanessa selbst is an incredible poker player. Vanessa Rousso. Jennifer Harmen. Jennifer Tilly has improved a lot over the years though I think there are other female players who are much better than her. Annie Duke had her success back in the day. Kathy Liebert is a legend. Annette obrestad. Too many to mention. All better than I will ever be at poker and I have been playing and trying to be good at it for over 17 years. Just seems like a troll post to me.

I think it's a game that has always had a lot of men, and women are becoming increasingly interested in poker.
I think it's only a matter of time before women are in the same number as men

but it doesnt really say anything on who is best at playing poker - exactly poker players looking at statistics and expected values should be able to analyze out of a population 86% are men therefore if the percentage winners are higher than 86% there is an element (not necessarily gender!) causing the excessive winner percentage!

the theory that men are better at playing poker than woman is not excluding that a woman win a tournament!

and again i am not saying i agree on the theory that men are better at playing poker just saying dont use arguments that are statistical wrong or actually supporting the theory��

hmm how can poker players refer to that due to a very small population of woman out of the total population of poker players the percentage of woman winners is smaller than the sub population of woman out of the total population?

From what I know some women, for a variety reasons, had a positive path into poker.

Take Kristin Bicknell as an example. She competed in male dominated sports as a kid due to her family's involvement in motor racing. She had college friends who showed a interest in poker and then supporting each other to learn and improve. She now holds her own in super high rollers.

However, without that support system many women feel resented at the live tables and have men actively trying to intimidate them.

To underline the intimidation point and the level of misogyny which sadly exists to a degree with some male players, I'll loop back to Kristin Bicknell.

Andrew Neeme, whose vlog most of us follow (I presume) featured Kristin at one point. He knew her as a player and friend and wanted to showcase her as she had gone to levels he has yet to achieve.

Pathetic though it is to relate, Andrew then received numerous complaints about featuring a women on his vlog - a women that is, who is a bona fide world class player.

I use this to simply point to a level of anti-women bias that exists within the poker world, which in 2019 is truly pathetic.

Exactly, here's a simple explanation for that. If there is a 50%-50% ratio of male and female players on the field i would put my bets on ladies. Ladies are superior when it comes to social intelligence so the math is pretty simple
