I'm a tournament specialist player and whenever I try cash games I do bad. I'm fairly sucessful in tournament poker but I'm just awful in ring games. Well, a few days ago I picked up Harrington's Cash game book volume 1, they didn't have volume 2 when I went to the store or I woulda got that too. The poker books I've read in the past were Super system by Doyle Brunson, Theory of poker, NL hold'em for advanced players by david sklansky, and the 2 HoH books. And out of all those books, the only ones that actually improved my game significantly were HoH. The other books actually worsened my game when I tried to do what they said and I didn't like them. So I had pretty high expectations for Harrington's cash game books. So I thouroughly read Harrington's money game book V1 and WOW what an eye opener, I was playing deep stacked cash games so bad before, I was playing them just like I would play in a MTT. Played a lot of ring games yesterday and the day before, putting Harrington's advice into practice and had some very good results. If you're a tournament player who hasn't had sucess in ring games I really suggest this book.

How do you think the books helped you most? Were you playing too tight? Were you overvaluing top pair? Something else?

Just curious.

Mostly not thinking about implied odds enough as I should have been, playing too aggressive, mostly overplaying top pair. Like in a MTT if I have top pair good kicker, or even top pair bad kicker, I'll often come over the top all in on the flop. Sometimes I'll even come over the top with middle pair good kicker.

If anyone is interested I have an extra set of the Harrington on Cash Games books, got them as a gift but I already have a set. I would be willing to send them US Mail C.O.D. for $55.00. Message me here at CC.

Amazon.ca just shipped mine a couple of days ago! I can't wait for them to get here because I've been sucking it up at 25NL and it's pissing me off :p

Arg I **hate** to double post this, but if it saves an extra person $6 then hey I guess its worth it (right MODs?)

I found a valid Barnes & Noble coupon code that works through the end of may.

ENTER COUPON CODE: A8P8N9P

I just used it , and this happened:

Coupons or Promotional Discounts:-$6.12
