Sure thing! Folding AA in poker is super rare but might happen in unique situations:

  1. Position:
    • Early: Play aggressive. Late: Adjust based on opponent actions.
  2. Tournament Type:
    • Turbo or Sit-and-Go: Consider if chips are crucial due to rapid blinds.
  3. Tournament Stage:
    • Late stages with high blinds: Assess chip advantage before risking.
  4. Opponent Reads:
    • If specific reads hint at stronger hands, consider a strategic fold.
Note: Folding AA is advanced and risky; pros usually play aggressively. Decide based on exceptional circumstances.

Can fold AA in a tournament if it depends on your entry to the final table.

This here makes an even better question then the bubble question.

Thinking about it I honestly don't know....would probably depend on a number of things. My position/chip stack compared to others in the MTT and the $$$ jump in position from 10th-9th assumed full-ring MTT. In certain small % of the situations maybe worth a fold here if not a KO or Bounty MTT......

At the end of the day the goal is still win the MTT and with so many MTT's being KO's and Bounties folding AA seems just stupid to me when you can printing money with it majority of the time. No math or stats genius but I think long term you print more money with AA going all-in then you making the pay jump in position.

EDIT: Honest not trying to bag on for how you'd play as that's how the above may sound. Not meant too. Just thought it'd make a great question and wanted to give me thoughts.

Cheers!!!

I've folded a few times with AA, but it was always because of the bubble, and also because whoever was going to play after me had more chips than me. The fear of being left out of the ITM was stronger.:ROFLMAO:

I would close to bubble or due to ICM pressure on a final table if the prizejump is high and 3 or more players go allin preflop.

i would fold AA in a sat at the bubble phase if there was no need to risk it . also on a very wet flop with many others in the hand very interested to go all in , it is a red flag for AA for a possible crack

The minimum possibility of me folding an AA would be post flop with the table revealing three cards of the same suit which are not the same suit as any of my aces and a rival making an exponential increase in the bet, with another one calling, as Surely one of them was betting so big and hit a flush.

Folded AA last night for the second time ever. Same situation. Power Path Step 2. ($11 prize). I was in top 20, with 187 tickets to be paid and around 200 players left. I just folded my way to glory. (nice bank of a $109 PP ticket, 2x $11 PP tickets and a $11 Sunday storm ticket.) Now just need to find time to play those long slow games!)

But generally, I'd shove AA before folding it (pre-flop).

Post-flop, I've folded AA loads of times postflop when the board has been terrible.

I always feel like an adult when I do so.

Folding AA is a big sin for me, so I play to the end in any situation.

I've given up many times with a pair of AA, it's not always that you have an AA that you're going to win.
