I like to play online for the convenience and the sheer volume of play. I played over 4000 hands this month, which for a rec player like me is a lot. I would never see that number in live play.

In the end though there is nothing like playing at a live table with other people. Having real chips in front of you ... being able to see and interact your opponents. Poker is a social game and just feels better in a live setting IMHO.

I prefer to play online poker. Playing on the Internet, I feel more comfortable. In offline poker, I rarely play with friends. I'd like to play live poker in a casino or poker clubs to gain experience.

I prefer to play poker Live because in the live there is no rack and you are watching the cards fall on the table to be shuffled and although the prize of the live in the amateur is clear. There are many poets and no longer online.

I like real poker most of all.

I like real poker most of all. In real poker I've been playing for 8 years, and this time I very rarely lose, mostly I win. My record, for 2 months I won $ 1500. well and so, when I will make a game, 50 $ -100 $ I always win for an evening. In online poker I can not win, if I win a little, then the next day I lose everything. Why this happens I can not explain. I hope I find the reason for my losses and will win and withdraw money from online poker.

Real poker is more poker than online. I played at casino - it was cool but very nervous for me. I play with my friends and it is pleasure for all of us.

Because live poker is better you can see your level by playing with others, but online poker is a lucky roulette and also strongly influences

I play poker with my friends when we meet at my house or at my friends' house, but it's rare once a month, and so I only play online at home on the computer and for me it's normal, but I would like to play live poker in a casino on a good expensive tournament!

Live poker at a casino is by far my favourite option to play poker. Home games with friends are next in line, however it is harder to win anything major because the games are smaller. Online is strictly for entertainment. I have never deposited cash and never will as there are too many risk factors in playing online. My online bankroll is from winning freerolls and I’ve done ok growing it playing micro stakes.

When playing online poker, the process of reading the opponent is very difficult, because it can not be seen. The main advantage of playing poker on the global network is its availability and speed.

I like both.....pros and cons to each....please contribute if you can think of more...

Live
- more social interaction - sometimes I learn something about a topic I did not expect to hear about that week! - also odors and sometimes loud/obnoxious/drunk player
- staredowns can be intimidating
- mechanics of live means that everything takes longer and so less hands per hour in live
- tells - Facial Ticks - Body Language - Story with his bet/shove
- may need to "call" the clock
- game is very visual - should be able to see the bet in front of a player and then ask the dealer for verification /clarification
- human error - mis-deals (card flips up or off table, etc.) - betting more of less chips than intended
- more difficult to track stack sizes / time to next level / No. of players left / etc.

Online
- don't have to travel anywhere and I can play in my jammies and drink my own 6-pack of favorite beverage
- have the ability to close all chat / verbal/text/messaging interaction
- Tells are more about player behavior such as bet size - length of time to bet or call, etc.
- automatic clock sometimes not enough time to really think through a hand
- human error - never on dealer's part (stacks / side pots / winning hands are all accurate and automatic) - Player misclick errors
- game is visual but all the numbers and sometimes stats are easily visible and instantly understandable
- Online I have never seen the floor called to freeze the clock while he hears complaints from players!

Some people say online is less lucky. Ex......guy shoves w AA preflop and gets called w garbage that beats AA. Well truly for every stunt pulled like that for whatever reason.....one player gets lucky - the other unlucky - so the universe balances out even-steven. But AA remembers being cracked more vividly than the guy that cracked those aces - so the story that survives and is retold is the aces cracked.

I'll say this......every weird runout of cards that people complain about online - I have seen live. Bad beats and weird board runouts just happen.

The day they allow me to play at a casino in my underwear at 4+ tables at a time is the day live is better than online for me. :D

Seriously though I like online because of the comforts of home but playing live with the chips and sounds of the casino is needed from time to time.
