I think suited connectors can be good when low stacked to if 3 way or more or if deep stacked. (gamble time or deep enough)
mid stacks probably not good to spew chips.

Depends on what it costs to play them if you get in cheap enough they are a great hand if you go in with more than a few big blinds then you are over playing them position related of coarse
I play this type of hands with some care and taking advantage of the position since in the past they have been a bit tricky for me and I get to lose with many hands like this. As someone said in a post above I usually play this type of hands in final positions or button or in the blinds to avoid losing chips unnecessarily.
