Thanks for following along and impressive runs for you so far. How many sprints have you started in total and how many $60's have you got to overall?

As far as any two, I did back off on this on a later post that you may have missed. Going for two bounties with any two within some reason...better to prioritize winning the sprint over the bounties but at the $60 level those are big bounties...
But your bpunty to win is bigger yet (usually) so prioritize the win vs the KO unless you can win two. Any two is too wide but I'd be fine calling 75c, 22, A5o, etc

Thanks mate!

I think my overall stats are 100 runs started ($5 level) and 4 $60 runs - no idea if that is good or terrible! Not won one yet though!

Got to six $25 games again.

Got to HU in 5 of them with a chip lead.

In all of them grinded opponent down to 8bb eff with 2:1 chip lead and lose back to back flips in all five.

So gutting.

Worst is I then load up the $5 games again and can't miss - quads, full houses, all hands holding.

Brutal

Thats a good rate to be honest, I think I'm between 26 and 28 $5 starts per $60 so that stat, should it continue to hold will pay off.

I do need to update my stats which I'll do on Sunday

You are allowed to have 6 sprints on the go at once so I tend to play a couple of $5's, get a $12 one on standby and then work to get another one up. Play both and work towards a $25. And I repeat until I have a couple of $60's+ waiting to play one so I always have a bigger race to go if I get hot.

I'm going to try this - current method is trying to get all 6 loaded at the level above before I go for it.

Takes hours to get all six $25 ready to go from the $5 level and then you run bad and you're back to the start again.

very interesting to read you, Chris ..
Thank you for sharing all this information .. Nice work

I'm playing the grand tour too, but starting from one dollar. I always lose at 12 dollars max.

I'm going to try leaving several games open. Great advice!!

I'm playing quite a bit right now Jeff but I have fallen in love with this game and have seriously grinded it over the last month. Wish you could join in!

Grinding from the $1's is a tough go - best from ROI but horrible for an hourly win rate but I know people that have done it. Not many...but it is possible.

How many $1 sprints have you played?

As promised and a bit late, here are my updated stats going back to my very first sprint. Couple of things I'll comment on:

My win rate at the $5's has still come down but I'm stll trending above 25% so over 469 starts I'll take it. I would like to get that up closer to 30% but they can be crap shoots sometimes - as my first stake demonstrated. Having more 2nd's than 1st's is frustrating but there's a fair bit of variance in there. My KO rate has also come down and that's a lot to do with prioritizing the sprint over the KO - something I may toy with.

My win rate at the $12's is not over a big enough sample but having an almost equal number of 2nd through 4th's with a big bump on the wins is encouraging and something I hope continues. But getting to a $25 after only 10.3 $5 starts is a great stat if you consider that for every $12 win there were 16 entrants this is a good sign if it holds. Clearly either my style is better suited for the higher buy-ins or I'm playing tighter and winning more (which may be a sign for the $5's...)

Thoughts?

I forgot to update the biggest KO's as we did have the $133 on stream to cap off the first stake - I've updated that and will show on my next update.

Just won my first Grand Tour - from the $25 level... bizarre

Knocked out the guy in 3rd to get HU - then got the Final Sprint animation, KO'd the last guy next hand then was told I'd won!?

Won $146 and the guy I knocked out in 3rd was for a $21 bounty so maybe that was big enough.

I don't know - so odd.

Still had two proper $60 games left to play, both I got HU, got it in both times with 99 with even stacks and both times they had an overpair, brutal!

What may have happened is a small glitch in the game...

The intention is for you to play against people with similar bounties but sometimes at the $25 level if there aren't enough players in the $60 level...they pair 2 $60 bounties with 2 $25 bounties.

Mathematically there's no way for you to win the grand tour from the $25 level against 3 others in that level:

$25 bounty --> $12.50 to your bounty to get knocked out. If you take all three out that's only $37.50 to your bounty, so you had to have been against higher players and may not have realized it.

But whatever - take it! Congrats!

Yes mate I started with 14bb and they all had 28bb!

That's definitely what happened then - no way you would ever start with that big of a deficit unless the bounties weren't level and a $25 and a $60 getting in there would explain it.

Thanks for confirming - very lucky!

On another quite unbelievable note

My wife has just asked what this game I keep playing is. Loads up her account and says she is going to have a go.

Loads ONE $5 game - WINS Grand Tour - WTF!?

Looks at me like some sort of idiot not knowing what's so hard about it all! haha ridiculous!

Good for her! Just remember...

While this is a high variance, high reward format it does only take 1 sprint ultimately to win a grand tour.

After grinding Grand Tour for the last two weeks I had a session today that might put an end to my time on the Tour!

Won 3 tours in the two weeks which was fun (been playing from the $5 level).

Today I played 100 $5 games

I won 9... NINE

I lost all 9 of the $12 games.

Game didn't change - just didn't win a hand for 5 hours lol

AA all in 20bb v AK... lose
KK lose etc etc

Extracting value in standard spots and they river gutshot etc

I lost with a straight flush in one pot to a higher one...

Realising you can have a -$421 session playing the $5 in a format where bounties should keep you somewhat alive during a bad session was pretty crushing.

Unsure whether to keep grinding - lost all enjoyment of it today.

Hello

I ve played grand tours on pokerstars from the start i won couple of them and i have some final races too

Before 6 days happened somthing to me two times in a row on the same race (25$)

On 19/8 i ve played my grand tour matches as usual i won 4 in an a row and i climb to 25$ race with bounty of 27$
And then pokerstars starts the table with 3players of 25$ race (27$ bounty each)
And a player of 60$ buy in (54$ bounty) something that means pokerstars give him double chip advantage vs us

On the next day again i won 4 race in a row and i am going to play my 25$ race with 32$ bountys
Then pokerstars put in a table of 60$ players (and the 3 players has more than 60$ bounties) they play final race if someone won the match they get paid but still i have to play another race after if i won . so pokerstars give them again double stack advantage and if i won someohow vs 3 double stacks i have to play again another game

I informed support either greek one and the english one and noone response to me
Also sent a twitter and message to support on twitter and still no respone and this is the 6th day

Idk if something like this happened to you or anyone?

This is just like a KO SnG with the exception that if you win the round you don't win your bounty - but the reward at the end is definitely worth it for the buy-ins that we'd be playing at. Even from the lower buy-ins I feel there's more profit here than in a standard KO SnG

It's a high variance format no question but the added bounties make this a fascinating and fun format to play. However like straights, if you go chasing bounties you can have massive downswings
