In online MTT, it's best to just call with big hands (AA-JJ) when someone bets. If there is a reraise before it gets to you, then either reraise of shove all when early in the tournament. As the blinds go up and you get closer to the bubble, you need to just min raise. Also understanding CPR (Chips per round) and CSI (Chip Stack Index aka "M") are crucial.

Remember the goal in MTT isn't about knocking players out, (Unless it's a knockout tournament) it's about accumulating chips early on to deal with higher blinds and antes later on.

Too difficult to have a good result at tournaments :)

For me I find it easier to play zoom cash games , where I ch
oose buy in , the blinds are fixed , no antes , I am searching for the chance/righr spot , in tours all are more messed , strategy and tactics , good readings are needed that I lack off .

The second best I would choose are sngs low buin 1$ 888poker ,better than MTTs , I like them , although now I don'[t know if I will be able to play them again in the future , i have no access to the lobby , damn my pc reboot :( , damn , damn , damn ...

PokerStars much better

I miss Pokerstars. I mean we can play Pokerstars in New Jersey, but that's it.

I did read that there was a bill signed by NJ Governor that they will combine the Delaware, Nevada, and New Jersey players together. That's an improvement, but far from the glory days.

This could be caused by a few things:
1. sample size- depending on the tourney it could take a large sample size to gauge ability
2. stack depth - lots of tourney play is played at short stack depth
3. icm- do you understand the concept and work on the specifics for the tourney you are playing

I think if you win in a cash game it is not necessary to change the discipline develop in the game and hit limits

It's usually the other way around so I am wondering why I cannot win in tournaments?

Both online and live, I just suck at tournaments. I feel like the field is a bunch of fish too, especially live, but I just cannot seem to get it.

I have finished in the money a few times online, but never live. I bust out every time.

Live, it may be bet sizing that gets me because I have a REALLY HARD time keeping track of the pot in deep stack tournaments. Also, I can raise 3x the BB and get 6 callers. OKAY so I step it up and raise 5x the BB and get 6 callers. I'm thinking I should be killing these guys and they just donk donk win!!

lol oh well, maybe next month when I go again I'll just play like a fish too....
Me too! But where's the money? My ex girlfriend got almost everything I had at my bank account.I'm lost! I'm broken!

Well, it happens to the players, all there are favorite types of poker with different speeds the number of entries at the time of registration as well as tournaments with awards for knocking out ... everyone has favorite and not favorite disciplines ... I can not tolerate cash games, although I regularly play games and give my guy 2 $ although I'm doing everything the same as in tournaments, but in tournaments I'm at least stable in entering prizes so improve the cash game and increase your bank

Draws go way down in value in MTTs. Aggression goes down in value. Running equities goes way down in value. BRM goes down in value. Anything volatile like 3 betting even with a nut hand goes down in value.

MTT's

When playing MTT's ive found it more beneficial for me to play tighter in the beginning of the game. That's when the donks and less experienced seem to go wild. Sometimes you can catch one but, seems like donks are so lucky. But, get through the first little bit of the game when the blinds get higher donks get tighter. That's when you loosen up a bit, your experience will then shine. Also, if you play at the site quite a bit make note of how individual players play. whether its tight or loose, aggressive and so on. Be patient how donks play usually comes back to bite them and you can be waiting for your moment to pounce.
