If you spot them early on and you keep seeing them doing same tactic over and over again just wait out for a good hand. Try baiting them with your hand if they shove you just call them and hope that they were actually bluffing once again.

I just let the others finish him:D . Ok , what I really mean I let him play his style of game , while I wait for my good hands and then attack . He will be raising his donking wide range all the time , so with some little luck , it won't be difficult to finnish him off.

They take care of themselves most times. Just wait for big hands but don't get mad if your AA gets cracked.

Wait for a solid good hand to beat him. Overpairs and A10 high plays very well against them

Most of the time this kind of player is in freeroll or in live table witch a bunch of drink. But my strategy is limp in early position or call raise a bet in position. Just waiting for a monster and he is out for sure.

You need to just be patient and wait for a good hand. These are the type of players that are generous enough to double you up when the opportunity comes.

To some players, everyone is a donk. Just because they play a style of poker that annoys the shit out of you doesn't make them bad poker players. Dealing with a variety of play styles is a part of learning to play poker.

Just play your game. There are plenty of fish there. Try to get chips from them , just don bluff! They never fold!

Be patient, play fit or fold poker. If you have a hand, it's likely good. Don't fall victim to FPS here, don't bluff at him, but be prepared to call him down with 2nd pair to the river if he's truly shoving every hand, and don't raise preflop unless you have a premium hand. You'll lose a bunch of tiny pots but when you hit a hand it will pay off big time.

stop thinking of these players as donks, there is a method to there madness, maybe instead of wating for AA try calling with what you consider to be a bad hand.

pe rsonally I love cracking my opponents AA with so called crappy hands.

seriously there are other ways of winning than with a big pair

every one at the table will hate you and mouth of at you but who cares all they want is your money

FORGET THE RULES EMBRACE THE CHAOS

or dont i could be wrong lol

  1. Be very thankful you have a donk in your table
  2. Rub your hands with glee and do a shimmy when he multiplies his stack and knocks a few players off
  3. Wait patiently for 50 hands if you have to. When you have a really strong hand get him to go aggro fish on you and double your stack. Won't be long when you quadruple through him. Think of him as your lifeline to break the bubble easily and figure your way into a very realistic FT.
The worst you can do is:

  • Think of him as a c**k block. 3b shoving on all your opens is frustrating for sure which is why you're going to tighten up your opening range.
  • Play like this usually begins at the start of the tourney when you are a 100-200bb deep. You lose 3-4bb for each re-steal. Barely a dent to your stack. Don't lose your patience and risk losing it all.
  • Don't play his own game against him. You will always lose. This has two negative side effects:
    • You may pick up the tendency to open a looser range than you normally would even in a regular game. You may even call 3bs from strong players with marginal hands to donk like this one guy.
    • You will always see the donks win and will always have a psychological roadblock when you see similar types in the future. You may play more aggressive than you need to without warrant. The idea is to play as coolly and level headed as you would otherwise and not let him phase you.
Yes you will lose a few flips with these idiots. But in the long run you will win more of them. And when you get into the habit of winning them you will learn to appreciate them and laugh off the times your As and K's get cracked to a 93o.

(Pre 81%, Flop 13%, Turn 23%)
BTN wins 65.32 BB

Hand 3

He actually outchips me now from having knocked out 2 or 3 more players. 17 hands in still. This time I cripple him though and become tourney chip leader. He doesn't last long after.

I was actually lucky to get playable hands frequently enough to cripple him directly but there were 2/3 more patient players who would've knocked him out even if I didn't.

Couple of guys in my local league, play like that. I think it ruins the flow of the game, because you don't get to see the flop repeatedly.
Their luck is usually short lived, so when someone is game enough to call their rubbish hand and win, I am happy and shout GOOD! in my mind, or "serves you right" under my breath!:p

Ok just a question, i know everyone plays different styles but how do you deal with a player that is constantly raising then going all in. Arrggghhh. Tilted

i watch for his moves , try to understand the betting size and the hand he has , then go all in with a pair

That is so true , he can't always win , no matter how Aggressive he is , especially when playing deep.
You have to play attention on bet sizing , and focus on his checks for long time before you can beet him.
