at this point i think im all in .. any pair ten or above....i feel 1-3 bb's is enough to build a huge stack in this situation...u have to figure most ppl are tightening up at this point..so i would be taking advantage of that fact and jammin pots to steal blinds....

What I do, and it's not a very smart decision, is I play the way I was playing all along. Sure, I might get double what I brought in, or I might lose. You can't see it as "Oh, i need to hold on a bit longer" or you condemn yourself to a negative mind set. You need to be assured of your own strength in times like that and you must never fear the unknown...Double it up, rob the blinds, play the person and not the cards...Make them type in capital letters...If you're pissing someone off, you're doing your job

This unique fold, if you go all-in and even win, do not forget that you have a very short stack and your winning dont make a special weather to you. So it is better to wait until the bonus zone and continue the game with a clear conscience.

As for me, I agree that its always better to make a little money than lose your buy in. And any new game is different from previous one, so you are to decide what strategy of the poker game to choose every new game!

I

Hi,
In a game when you are nearing the bubble, just 100 or so people to fall away in a game that started with thousands-
and you are very shortstacked (but the blinds have just passed you and you believe you can survive till payouts by folding)-
What strategy do you like more:

when: you pick up a decent hand 10 10

1) fold till payouts
2) all in (just over 1-3 BB)- and risk busting or doubling to a stack that is still short but workable

Depending on the purpose of the tournament if you want to live to prizes then fold, if you want to win , the aggressive raise or all-in

At that point of only having 1-3 big blinds, you will not get many to fold if anything you will get multiple callers with those pocket tens putting you in a bad spot, In that scenario you hope you sneak in if its that close. Though you should have been shoving all in around 10 x BB and playing to win double up or bust out.

Allin with 10 10, winners don't play to min cash. Getting 1st place is way better than being a min cash specialist.

Yes, I think it is better to try to double , but only a push and hardly anyone will go before the loot , and you even will collect the antes and blinds

Got in a similar spot with JJ on the bubble of a $580 MTT. I just posted about it in the hand analysis section. I think it boils down to if you're looking to min cash, how aggressive your table will call a shove, your position, how many other short stacks there are and what their positions are, if it's late position what is the action before it gets to you and how likely are any of the players in the hand to call and if so what is their range likely to be.
