A good poker player has in mind that to be profitable in poker he must respect his bankroll and play within the limits that will make him profitable in the long run, for beginners this tip is much more valuable.

If you're investing your own money, you'll usually want to win, but poker game variance associated with poor bankroll management can make you lose everything and break your bankroll.

Various poker scholars have different thoughts about the minimum bankroll for a given buy-in.
but in general they follow a more conservative thought.

if you play cash games:
example -
limit $0.10/0.20
maximum buy-in $20
multiplier factor 25
Minimum bankroll - $500

if you play tournaments - MTT
example:
1 dollar tournaments
minimum bankroll of 100 dollars.

I would also add that BRM depends on the success of the player. If the player is skillful, then a much smaller bankroll is needed than for weakly positive player. For example, $300 vs $800 for NL20 cash game.

In general, there is an exact formula that allows you to calculate the optimal bankroll for any player according to his statistics (win rate and std.dev).

Another thing to keep in mind is the speed of an mtt.

I hyper need a lot or more buyins than a reg speed.

It is clear that the larger the bankroll, the easier it is psychologically to endure losses. But you can’t go with a big bankroll to play with big buy-ins if you don’t have enough experience in the game just because you have a lot of money.

Right! With a negative winrate, that formula for BRM shows you need an infinite bankroll :D
