While it annoys me I fully understand those running clock trying to make the money. I have been in that spot many times before so I am more understanding.

However those players that naturally just play slow though especially late in turbo tournament after the bubble annoys TF out of me.

I see very often many annoying players who plays very slow( until their time expires) trying to get into the money:mad:. It happens especially in freeroll tournaments when there are still many players who has to lose their chips until people get into the money and the prizes for those just above the line are very low; so c'mon people .... that's really annoying... for prizes under 1$ to do that!?:D:DWhat do you guys think?

In General it is purely a private matter - how to play. If you are a super strong player and instantly calculate the situation, not everyone here is like that. Who is trying to calculate the chances, someone climbs into the table of starting hands! If you think that everyone is playing this way just to get into the prizes, then you are clearly mistaken.

It is part of the game, you must accept it and look at as more time to study opp, play other tables better etc.... I think if someone is doing it early or when there is no time value they are probably upset at something(one) at not at their best - look for an easy spot to take them down. I worry about when I am sitting in the cut-off and the pot was raised 3x by a very loose-aggressive player in mid position and I have him outstacked - those are what I spend my thoughts and energy on.

It is also a useful strategy that can affect your outcome, I do not differentiate between the level of the stakes involved. I play in freerolls & micro online and have played up to $500k tournaments live. It is all about the strategy.

It's a very valid strategy in my humble opinion. Any min cash is better than none and I think it's good that they're hungry for even that 20 odd cents they're getting from min cashing.

But if you're one of the big stacks this is a huge opportunity isn't it? Instead of it being frustrating you can now identify players who are playing with scared stacks and bully the hell out of them. Plus because they're slowing things down they end up being at a huge disadvantage because of rising blinds, helping big/medium stacks like you if you think about it.

I only worry about my hand and the time I take to act on it. I don't take to long to play a hand.

you should try to concentrate on your game and not on your rivals make time to stay in the money, many have done in free tournaments, the reason is simple: many people who play free tournaments are trying to build a bank from the Freerolls, that is, they do not do it just for annoying, if you are trying to build a bank all you can earn from them count, in buy-in tournaments many use the time bank because they want to win and not lose the money they have invested in the tournament

Hey, it's part of the game so you better get used to it or it may affect your game. I did it when I started on-line because I didn't want to deposit and if it meant being ITM vs not, then I used it to my advantage. Every little bit helps when you're trying to build a bankroll from nothing. Winning 20 cents might get me a rebuy in another game so, at that time, was pretty important. Such is the life of a freeroll player. Now, I don't do it but I still respect the guy that does. We don't all have the luxury of starting with a big bankroll.

When I have a big stack near the bubble, that is when I do it and watch the others destroy each other. I have won several tournies that weren't freerolls just by playing the clock and striking when I get a hot hand.
