There is a str8 draw there but no flush villain makes this with any 10 qj or such i push raising wont do much good really all the chips will go in on the turn whatever if u rse decent amount here.

gotta push imo dont really want big stacks drawing v us when we r pretty sure we ahead

if hes the type that likes to be aggro oop to test pf raisers (which is how it seems), i dont mind a call & raise on the turn.

dont like the mini raise preflop it makes it hard to narrow his hand down. he could be possibly be playing anything. id push to avoid the draws and hope he didnt flop a set

a small part of dorkus' stop mini raising thread......

1) For value, that is to get more money in the pot while we believe we are ahead.
2) To push others out of the pot.
3) For information.

i just dont see 3x bb raise to a larger stack in bb really accomplishing any of those

3x BB is not a min-raise... why raise 5-6x BB to potentially scare off a player when I have the 2nd best starting hand and in position?!!

3BB is standard, brutus. We get all of the above accomplished. We get decent value, give any potential caller a measely 1.5:1 odds, and get all the info we need.

A 2BB raise may not seem like much difference vs a 3BB raise, but trust me, it is. You're now giving 3.5:1 (good enough to call with anything pretty much), and get zero info and very little value.

If you raise 3BB with your mediocre hands and 5-6BBs with your big pairs, you're making a big mistake by telegraphing the strength of your hand based on the size of your bet.
