Hai all,

Just a quick note about titling your threads in this ('Hand Analysis') section.

Please try and stay away from vague thread titles, and instead try to provide a very brief 'summary' of the hand(s) in the thread title. This is obviously so users can easily pick out the threads that interest them as opposed to having to sift through often long posts and hand histories only to find they don't really care about the hand because it's an Omaha hand/it's a SNG hand/whatever.

Examples of 'bad' thread titles include:

"Was this play okay?"
"Should I have folded here?"
"OMG WHAT A DONK"
"Do I go allin here?"

Examples of 'good' thread titles include:

"$20 MTT mid stages - KQ hits 2pair on turn, villain shoves. My move?"
"$100NL - QQ vs preflop rereraise"
"$50PLO8 - Second nut low and nut flush draw vs crazy 3-way action on flop"
"$20 SNG - fold AA on this co-ordinated board?"

Obviously you can't go into any great detail about a hand within the confines of a thread title, but any little snippet of information on the hand(s) contained within are better than a title which gives us no idea of what's going on. Even "Top pair top kicker vs turn shove - HELP!" or "$10MTT AQs bubble hand" are vast improvements on "Help what do I do?" :)

Cheers, and happy posting!

~ Chris

Great post Chris. It can be extremly fustrating to see a whole raft of meaningless thread titles in the HA section. Example, i was away for the last week and only really got a chance to read the posts tonight. Out of the page and a bit of new threads i can say i read 5, the rest i ignored simple because the titles were poor.

Since I get very few replies to my HA threads, I'm gonna title my next ones "My Dog Needs A Name" and "Wild Naked Boobies". Are those specific enough? I was even thinking of changing my username to "Hott_Sticker".

Oh, and if it helps anyone, you can definitely been a little creative with your titles as the field is 85 characters long.

Does this thread still apply because I see more "shove this flop" , "should I call?" kind of title threads than anything else here? Just curious ;)

OOOOOOOOKay.

So I open this thread, see the image, and think 'I dont remember seeing those titles on the THA front page.' So, I go back, refresh the page, and still nothing. Enter thread again and I realize it was posted almost a year ago.

LOL.

There was a particular hand I wanted advice on some years ago. I posted it in a forums hand history section. Can't remember the exact wording but I titled the post something like 'Naked Teens'. Got lots of views

as always you guys are crazy, but i like it. thanks for the write up about titles, im one of those who browse a lot and find out after it's to late, it wasn't what i expected, so i have to move on. and there are times when i'm limited on my search. so it would be nice when your in a hurry, only half hour or so to be able to find what your looking for. it would make checking out the forum more enjoyable to, not having to guess what's this about? :)

what happened to the topic?

Why are you opening old threads with pointless comments like this? You've made all your posts in less than an hour and all are of little or no value.
The betting shop will be open soon folks.:D
