Qualifier for the Party Poker $2 MILLION Garuanteed

This weekend partypoker had a $2million garanteed tourny runnning. The following occured in a qualifying tournament I played a few hours befor the $2mill started. The buy in was $175 and the top 32 players received a $640 seat.

-(As an aside about 15 minutes into the tourney I was disconected from the site and could not log back i for about 1 hour. Needless to say when I did get back on I was severely short stacked but did somewhat make my way back into the tourney, before becoming pretty short stacked again).

Anyways in this hand I am under the gun, there are 42 Players left and 32 win a seat.

I was sitting in about 37th position of 42.

Was this a horrible push??

I don't think its a very bad push, looking at your stack size. However, there is a big stack in the blinds and he gets a hefty discount on what could look like a desperation move.

Also there are still 7 players behind you still to act. I would actually rather push here with a hand like 78s than KQ cause a lot of the calling range of the opponent comes from hands like AQ or AK.

In additon a UTG all-in short stacked looks just very weak, which could be a good thing for you as the bigger stacks might call you more loosely.

Do you prefer paying the blinds and then coming out the otherside with 2720, then pushing with ATC?
