About Party Poker Mobile
If you are playing poker and own a mobile device, you might want to check out what Party Poker, the third biggest online poker site in the world, has to offer. Are you one of the millions of people worldwide who own an iPhone, smartphone or tablet and would like the convenience of playing on your mobile phone? If you are on the move a lot, now may be the perfect time to turn those boring plane or train trips or wasted minutes waiting for someone into something productive and exciting. And Party Poker’s open invitation for just that could have your name on it.
The days when you had to be tied down to your own home computer or depending on someone else's browser in order to play poker online are over. For someone with a busy and active life style, playing poker under those constraints can be just as inconvenient as traveling long distances to a brick and mortar poker room.
Our Party Poker mobile review found the answer to that problem in the form of two apps. One is for Apple iOS devices, and one is for Android devices. All you have to do is download whichever free app would work on your iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, or smartphone, follow the easy instructions, and start playing. The apps work from any location. The next time you are on time for an appointment but the other person isn't or your train or flight is delayed, instead of looking at your watch repeatedly, you could be looking at your mobile device and playing PartyPoker!

Party Poker Mobile Review
History and Background
The online poker phenomenon, far from fading or going away, has only gotten bigger, with the latest exciting development to hit the worldwide poker community being the adaptability of the game for smartphones and other mobile devices. PartyPoker, one of the world's leading brands, wasn't the first provider to jump on the bandwagon, but now that it has, whether you are already a regular player on the site or brand new, you will want to follow their progress. Can they succeed in pulling away from the pack in the highly competitive mobile poker market? Only time will tell.
PartyPoker got its start in March, 2011 when two online gambling companies, the Austria-based sports book Bwin and the UK-based online poker site PartyGaming merged to form PartyPoker; now the largest publicly traded online gambling company in the world.
However, PartyPoker was a late entry into the realm of mobile poker, releasing its first app, for Android devices, in December, 2013. Another app for iOS devices followed soon afterwards. Since that time, our PartyPoker mobile review has found that the operator has made some improvements to the apps, but they are still lagging behind what some of the competition is currently offering. Since mobile devices are still a relatively new way to play poker, look for more improvements in the PartyPoker apps to be forthcoming soon.
Unfortunately, the updated apps are not yet available in all countries where PartyPoker is open to players. Also, Australia has withdrawn the apps (and other mobile poker apps) from their App Store. No form of PartyPoker, including the mobile version, is currently available to U.S. residents, other than the separate New Jersey Party Poker site open to players residing in or visiting New Jersey.
Security and Fair Play
If you are a new player, it is only natural for you to have questions about the security and fairness of a site, and that applies whether you are playing on a computer or on a mobile device. Our PartyPoker mobile review found that they take these concerns very seriously, too, and this is a site you can play on with no qualms whatsoever because it is a responsible provider running an operation that is 100% fair, safe, and secure.
PartyPoker is licensed by the Government of Gibraltar and regulated by the Gibraltar Gambling Commission. In addition, the site is independently tested to ensure that all of the games are fair and the outcomes random. PartyPoker mobile real money gaming has zero tolerance for fraud or collusion. If any players are found engaging in that type of behavior, their accounts are closed immediately.
Software and Games
PartyPoker is powered by bwinparty systems software. Bwinparty is a reliable online gambling provider with an excellent reputation and the software is high quality. If you are signing up with PartyPoker for the first time, before you can start playing you will need to register and create a real money account. You can do so either on your computer or on the mobile phone app itself.
You will find the information you will need on your choice of apps and how to download them. You will see have a choice of two apps, one for Apple iOS devices and the other for Android devices, and either one can be downloaded directly from the PartyPoker site itself. If you are unsure what kind of device you have, the software will tell you which app is compatible. The app for Apple mobile devices can also be downloaded from the App Store. However, the Android app is only obtainable from the website; it is not available from the Google Play Store. Keep in mind, too, that if your mobile device is an old model, these apps might not work. The iOS app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices requires iOS 4.3 or later. The Android app only works on Android 2.1 or later.
You can play PartyPoker mobile on the 3G or 4G network or Wi-Fi connection. When you are ready to start playing, you can select from these three play options: Real money, Fast Forward, or Play money. The Fast Forward option is a special format that allows you to immediately move on to the next hand after you fold rather than waiting for the hand to play out. As soon as you fold your hand, you are moved to another table. Playing this form of speed poker, you will get in many hands per hour, but you will also be continually moving from table to table. Fast Forward poker is strictly for very low stakes.
Otherwise our PartyPoker mobile review found that, if you are playing for real cash, you have a choice of no limit, fixed limit, or pot limit hold ‘em. You can go to the Quick Seat lobby and choose the type of game you want, number of players, and stakes. Then click "play now," and you will be immediately assigned to a table.
Upon joining a game, you then press "Buy chips" and indicate the amount you want. Once you do, you will be dealt in the next hand. For your convenience, there is a cashier directly on the app for both deposits and withdrawals.
Unfortunately, mobile poker PartyPoker players could get bored after a while because other than the free play or real money play, but not for high stakes, ring games, there is nothing to do. If you are hoping to mix up your cash game play with sit and gos and tournaments, you are out of luck.
Despite hundreds of sit and gos and tournaments that you can play on your computer on the regular site, our PartyPoker mobile review could not find a single one. Admittedly, boarding or disembarking from a train or plane or even just trying to shut out all the distracting noises in a public place is not the ideal scenario for deciding whether to go all-in at a critical time. On the other hand, not offering any tournament play at all is a glaring deficiency in PartyPoker mobile which, hopefully, the site will correct soon.
If you want to take a break from poker and play a casino game or make some sports bets, which you probably will, the good news is you can and you can do it on your mobile device, too. Another nice feature you will appreciate is that you can view your hand history in the app. Not all mobile poker sites have that capability.
PartyPoker is not the fishiest site. The traffic from the site's casino, sports book, and Bingo room will guarantee some weak players, as will the fact that mobile and computer players can be playing in the same games. However, due to this being a high profile site, and also one that specifically targets the young computer savvy crowd, you will also run into many skilled players who have been playing on PartyPoker for a long time. The website offers a "poker school" where beginners can learn the basics, but also where advanced players can fine tune their skills further. PartyPoker might be a tough site for beginners to try to win.
