Ok, so I realize this is only a freeroll on Full Tilt, but important to learn my mistakes either way. The guy I end up going against I believed to be a maniac, who had literally open pushed preflop the previous 3 hands, on the 3rd got a caller and won A,7 on 10,10. So my question is if I did this wrong or what I could have done better. Thanks for the input. ;)

Okay, I realize my 1st mistake could have been betting the pot on the flop. But again, he was being a maniac, and I had position on him. I figured the bet forces him out. When he reraises I don't believe him based on prior play (I dont see him having AK....maybe KQ) and assume I have the best hand, which I did at that point.

According to the odds calculator, you had 80% to win with the cards held. Donkeys win 20% of the time. You did great to get all his money in the pot with those odds. And, while I was at the table with him, he convinced me, too, that he was an idiot. I am still in, but got moved to a different table.

Yep I agree with the above. You had to assume you had the best hand and did well to get all his chips in (but i might have made a smaller bet than the pot to induce a raise from the maniac as a play for the pot, but what you did worked anyway I guess). Well played these things just happen.

You didn't make any mistakes. The maniac just got lucky. As pigpen pointed out, he will lose 4 out of 5 times in this situation.

Yes, fold preflop or reraise, but really, just fold preflop next time m'kay ? Blinds are hella low and you are in a freeroll. Wait for the good hands/spots and go at it.

In this case I think you have to shove preflop, or fold.
You are basing this on your read of the maniac, which he proved here.
If you are going anywhere at any time against this guy, this would be a good time to do it.

The fold is a wimpy play, even if it does serve the survival goal. This is not to say you have to slay the dragon, but the guy will obviously be gone soon, and why shouldn't you make a play at his chips.
